"Phoenix Queen," the academy director called. I walked across the stage to collect my badge and diploma. "Congratulations," he said as I shook his hand.
"Thank you, Sir," I said. As I walked across the stage and down the other set of steps, I fell. I saw Mairead face palm at my clutzyness. I laughed at myself, which caused everyone else to do the same.
"There's a step there, Queen," Mairead chuckled.
"If I recall you fell UP them, Carslile," I retorted. The graduation continued and everyone made it across stage. Now, we're official officers.
"You ready, partner?" Mairead said.
"I think a better question would be, Is everyone else?" I said.
