TSSS!

The pancakes hissed as Jun poured the batter into the pan and a light heat from the stove reached my face. Long strands of dark hair flowed over my shoulders and rested on my arms as I plant my head on his bare shoulder and smell the delicious batter cooking.

'Naeyeon. C'mere.' Kate gripped my shoulder and pulled me from Jun and into the living room. No sooner than we got there, she began asking questions. 'Are you all right? Did Jun hurt you?' Her inquiries flew at me but all I could do was laugh.

'Kate.' I replied calmly. 'I'm fine. We just slept in the same bed. He hugged me and I wasn't really scared of the storm for the first time since my father held me when I was a child.' Kate frowned.

'Well, okay... but I'm not going to push you to tell me that you like him.' Spinning away from her, I moved my cold hands to my now red-hot, burning face.

'I-I don't.... ugh what am I going to do with you?!' I giggled and walked off back into the kitchen.

'Oh! Perfect timing! I was about to call you in to get some pancakes.' Jun smiled.

'Sweet~' I exclaimed, eyeing the delicious looking pancakes.

'Just like you, Naeyeon.'

'Aw, stop~ you'll make me blush.' Jun giggled and set down the pancakes on the breakfast bar as I skipped around and sat on a stool on the other side of the granite island.

***a week later***

The living room is dark with the exception of the blue haze of light streaming from the television screen.

"...now, just 500krw! Get it now!"

'Ah. I hate ads. Get to the drama!' I sighed towards Jun.

'Well, why don't we make our own drama?' Jun started chuckling as he looked me in the eye and wiggled his eyebrows. I burst out laughing at him and he smacked his hand to his chest. 'Excuse you. I am offended that you are laughing although I'm not actually sure whether you're laughing at my face or my suggestion.' Resting my head back on Jun's shoulder and continuing to stare at the screen, I correct him.

'Ani~ I just think it's silly.' Pausing for a short beat, the drama resumed and I continued. 'I mean, look; I don't know about you, but I can't act for the life of me and look at her!' gesturing to the screen, a beautiful close-up of Kim Tae-Hee appears, glimmering in the sunlight. 'I could never be pretty enough to be the main role in any drama.'

Jun's head tilted down and his lips almost grazed my forehead. 'Don't say that. You're beautiful Naeyeon. In my eyes, you are the most beautiful woman to exist.' Feeling my face heat up, I hid it behind my hands.

'You're just saying that. But seriously, look at you! You're basically a prince! Luscious, blonde hair, tanned, sweet, kind, friendly, you know wushu, you act, you sing beautifully, you're an immaculate dancer...'

Just then Naeyeon's phone rang.

'Hello?... Yes, that's me... Oh hello!... Really? That's great news!... Of course, Sir! See you then! Goodbye~'

Curiously, I turned to Naeyeon to ask her who called but before I could even open my mouth...

'I GOT IN, JUN! I GOT INTO PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT!! My manager wants me to go there in two days time to start training!' I grin at her beaming face that one moment ago was frowning.

'That's amazing news, Naeyeon! I knew you could d--' In that moment, my own phone began ringing. 'Hello? Yes. Hello, sir. Okay, thanks. Bye.' I sighed heavily, then stared through Naeyeon's sweet, chocolate irises and smiled. 'That was Pledis' manager,'

'And? What did he say?' She bounded up and down excitedly.

'I didn't get in.'

She wrapped her arms tightly around me. 'That's great ne-- Hold on. You didn't get in? Didn't as in "did not"?'

All I could do was nod my head.

'Oh... Oh no! That's terrible!' There was a short pause as she held me in her short, soft arms. Suddenly, Naeyeon's eyes widened.

--- A few days ago ---

'I really hope we make it into Pledis. It'll be so cool! We might even get in with the other boys too!' I smiled.

'We? You want to train with me?' She gazed up into my eyes, almost looking completely through me.

'Of course, Jun. I've spent two weeks living and laughing with you, why wouldn't I hope you come with me?' I giggled at her attitude.

'Okay, fair point.' breaking eye contact, she turned to observe the outside world from our lounge room window. 'Besides,' I continued. 'I kind of need to get in.'

'Why?'

'Well, if I don't get into Pledis, I have to go back to China and marry a girl I don't know.'

--- ---

'I won't let you go, Jun!' She tightened her grip on me and I began to find it hard to breathe. ' In the span of two weeks, I've become so accustomed to you being here...' A small spot on my shirt became soaked with warm tears. 'I don't want to let you go.'

'Look, Naeyeon. I'm going to have to leave. I'll have no choice. Pledis will tell my mother, and I'll be taken back to China and forced to marry.'

'Jun, I will give up my position in Pledis just for you to stay. You can take my spot.' Grabbing her by the shoulders, I wiped a tear from her face.

'You'll do no such thing, Naeyeon. You earned your spot there, so you'll stay. I'll accept my fate and go back, but I'll never forget any of the people I met here.'

'Especially the girl who turned my heart upside-down, sideways and flipped over. She showed me love just when I was beginning to think it only existed in books or movies. I know that there won't be a day I won't think of you, Naeyeon.'
