The shower drenches my naked body and the scorching water soaks into the tiny pores on my skin. I scrub the shampoo through my short, blue-black hair and over my tanned scalp then, I rinse and repeat with conditioner. Rinsing my hair and realising I haven't practised my audition for a few days, I begin to sing.

I know I can't take one more step towards you
'Cause all that's waiting is regret
Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore
You lost the love I loved the most

Slipping on a leather skirt and a Monsta X shirt, I check the time. 5am. I find my way to the bathroom and put some basic makeup on. I straightened my hair and cleaned up my eyeliner before going to the kitchen and making some french toast for breakfast.

I feel like I haven't eaten in days. Four large pieces kill my appetite and I sit down in my living room to watch some dramas to kill some time. The T.V turns on and a new drama had just started. It starts with the opening scene of a little girl, about 11 years old, lying in a hospital bed. My face twists remembering the scene from before. I immediately turn off the T.V and take a deep breath.

I need to forget about Kate for today. Or at least until the audition is over.

My doorbell rings and I hurry to check that my face looks okay before I let anyone see me.

Opening the door, I met face-to-face with two familiar people. The two people standing before me were the guys who must have helped us yesterday. My jaw drops and the boys smile bitterly at me.

'Miss Yoon Naeyeon?' The older one of the two asked. I could only nod.

'I'm Soonyoung and this is Seungcheol.' The other boy pointed to the first. By this time I had worked up the courage to speak.

'H-Hi, uh, please come in.' I closed the door behind them and brought them to the living room. 'so, I... um... I saw you guys just before I passed out yesterday. Did you call the ambulance out for us?' I managed to force out the words without bursting into tears simultaneously.

Soonyoung spoke first. 'Yeah. I called the ambulance and Seungcheol pulled the metal from across you.'

Seungcheol spoke up next. 'We saw the whole incident fold out, but we were a little far away so, it took us a sec to get to you.'

'Thankyou, guys. Really. I don't know what I would have done without you.' Tears crept to my waterline and rolled down my cheek.

'Hey, hey don't cry! It's okay! we'll be here for you.' Soonyoung stood up and made his way to me. He put his thumb to my cheeks and erased the tears from my face. Seungcheol shot up just as Soonyoung sat down and he sat next to me.

'I know what you need right now. You need a hug. c'mere.' I hesitated. I didn't really know this man and he was already asking for hugs. He seemed kind and harmless on first impression, and he did save me and my friend. Leaning over, I put my arms around him and he hugged me back. I felt his warmth carry over and melt the chill my heart held.

'You're right. I really needed that. Thanks.' He broke out a charismatic smile and went back over to Soonyoung. Soonyoung's stomach rumbled and he stood up.

'Hyung, we should go get some breakfast. I'm hella hungry!' Seungcheol stood up in turn.

'Sounds like a plan, Soon.' They both turned to me and before they could leave, I stopped them.

'I was really hungry this morning and I made too much egg mixture for French toast. It's in my fridge now so, if you guys wouldn't mind, I insist you eat breakfast here, for free.'

'Naeyeon, we couldn't eat your food! You need it to keep up your strengths!' Seungcheol speaks up.

'Please, I insist. You saved our lives, the least I can do is make you a meal.'

Soonyoung's face softens and he smiles softly at Seungcheol as he speaks. 'Hyung, I feel obliged to stay and she did insist we stay...' He sits at the table and Seungcheol follows suit with a sigh.
