Chapter 17 Part 1-The Turning Point
Jamie POV
Dana calls me earlier today and says he needs to see us in studio asap. I tell Dakota and we are on our way to a last-minute meeting. The Execs are all there and Foley, Sam and Erika are all sitting there as well. I am visibly nervous and hold Dakotas hand. Did someone catch us out in public? Did we slip up? I cannot do anything but worry and it takes the meeting about a half an hour to get started all the while the only two people actually talking to us are Foley and Sam. I was very surprised to see her seeing as Erika and Sam do not get along. She told me not to worry that she is a professional. Finally, Dana speaks.
"Okay guys nice to see you and we will get right down to business. I have been talking back and forth with your lawyers and the Universal big guys here and I think we have come to a decision we can all live with here. Erika is okay with you two coming out as a couple with a few stipulations as do we. First, we need you two to sign up for this romantic comedy asap. We want to start filming. Erika will be finishing another book soon in Dakotas point of view and it will be screened for scripting and then we will have Sam and Foley take over with vision. Next, we want to make sure you two are telling the story of how the book and the story brought you two together. The love was there from the start. Jamie, you elaborate on how you and Amelia are good friends and that Dakota and Amelia are good friends. Honestly, we would like to schedule you on a show to talk about your love and come out on an interview. This is going to be big. We want to be a part of that and if you agree we can do tis as of tomorrow. USA Today can interview you two tomorrow morning. Well, what do you guys think?". I look at Dakota and she smirks, "No consequences, right? No fines or blacklisting us? I am not going to deal with backlash from the studio it's bad enough we will have some from certain fans." "No, it will be 100% done with null and void. We will need you to sign this nullification paperwork and then we can talk signing on to the next couple projects. These films sell. We are also going to be banking on your said romance for FREED. We will see how true love conquers all and the rest of that bullshit. Got it guys?" We agree and sign whatever paperwork after speaking to our lawyers.
I know this will be a whirlwind and I make sure Dakota is okay with what is going to happen. "Yes, Jamie I have been waiting for this for a long time and I am tired of waiting!" I hug her tight and we get ready for the rest of our lives under public scrutiny and pushing the Universal/Fifty Shades agenda.
Chapter 17-Part 2- USA Today Interview- Coming out to the world
Jamie POV
It is early morning and we are up and dressed by makeup. I have hair again and boy do I love being able to have my hair styled. Dakota looks stunning and I am glad we have several interviews today. I get to see her change into different outfits. We get called out first and we sit next to each other and I grab her hand. She just stares at me. I asked Amelia to come for the interview as well but she is still in the back.
"Hi guys long time no see. I heard you have some news about the movies and about other things. So, how is everything going?"
"Well, we wanted to be the first to tell the fans that there is at least one more film coming out after Freed. We are very excited to let everyone know this. Dakota and I also have a surprise for some but not all fans. We are officially a couple now. We are very much in love and I have loved her for so long. I know she has loved me as well. We are truly happy and hopefully this will be forever" I look into her eyes for a sign and she is smiling at me her biggest megawatt smile. She giggles and little and adds "Oh it is forever Mr. Dornan!".
"Wow, lots of information then, when did you realize you were in love and how has this affected your relationship with Amelia. Have you divorced and how are the girls?"
"I fell in love with Dakota shortly after starting to film the first movie. I would have to say yes that is when I did. I never acting on my feelings and we stayed friends. I, being the honest man that I am, told Amelia right away. She already had a feeling and she told me to follow my heart and she was very understanding. We married quickly into the relationship and I have to say the pressure of her pregnancy made us make rash decisions. We love each other very much and I will always consider her a big part of my life." I turn to Dakota and she adds, "The girls and I have a very close bond. Amelia and I have become like sisters. We are a family. I know it sounds weird and for all those Damie/Jamelia groups, there is no hate between either of us. Amelia is here to dispel any rumors of hatred or quarrel". Just then Amelia comes out and hugs both of us and kisses Dakotas cheek and holds her other hand. "Hello, I am so happy to finally be able to tell the story of these two loves. I just want to say first of all my girls love this woman more than they love me at times. Dakota or 'Daki' as Dulcie calls her, is an amazingly sweet and honest girl. I did do some hurtful things to them in the beginning when I wasn't sure of myself and where my life was going. I got pregnant with Elva and realized we need to be a team and fight for these children to have a good life. I spoke to Dakota after having Elva and we agreed to work together. I knew from very early on I was losing Jamie to the work and to the woman behind the excuse of work. I too was not in love as we once were. I found myself longing for a past love. I was not 100% faithful to my husband either. I wanted to be with someone else. I am here today to put any rumors to rest. Jamie forgave me and allowed me to share custody of the girls. Jamie, is it okay if I bring the girls out they want to see you and Dakota?" I nod yes and then her mom lets the girls run up and jump on Dakota and me.
"I see you have done a lovely job in working all of this out. So, people that said there was no chemistry had to be dead wrong then?" Dakota answers this one, "Heck yeah, we had an amazing amount of chemistry even from the very beginning. Sam saw that. Erika and Foley did too. I knew I had feelings for him and I didn't act because we were friends and I wanted him to be happy with his wife but I knew there was something more. The first time we ever kissed was fireworks. Jamie and I have suffered so much for our love. We are here to say Christian and Ana brought us to each other. Erika wrote the story that changed our lives. We are so grateful."
The interview goes well and Erika, Sam and James Foley all offer their aspects on our relationship and how they knew without confirmation that we were in love. The interview ends with me giving Dakota a kiss and the girls giving us hugs. We are off to the next spot. The days was filled with interviews.
We finish all the interviews and Erika is super happy. She comes up to us "Thank you both and cheers to a long-time relationship for the Fifty Franchise!"
