Jamie POV
The reception is quite lovely if I say so myself. I really did well incorporating the Fifty Shades touches throughout while keeping it classy and upbeat. It is my wedding after all but this franchise was what started it all and I will be damned if I overlook it. Our dance is to Ellie Gouldings Love me Like You Do. I have the Weekend and Selena Gomez here and he promised to sing Where you Belong. I also have a surprise for my bride to be and I will be singing for her for the father/daughter dance. I will then take over for our dance. I have it all planned in detail. This will be the best night of her life.
Speeches are first. Her brother Jesse says a few words, then Grace, Stella is a quiet girl and just applauds. Melanie and on have a go at it and bring the entire room to tears. Don ends with There is no one I would rather lose my little girl to than you Jamie. He gives me his hand and I stand for a very kind embrace.
As all things go I think the public speaking segment is over until my dad stands up and asks for the mic. He tells s of when I was small and how I was a mommas boy. Son, your mother adored you. You were her little knight in shining armor. I know this is right I feel it in all that I am as a father and as a man. I wish you both the best life has to offer and I hope that I will see more grand babies soon. I have tears and so does Dakota. We stand and hug him in unison. Some of my blokes say a few words and then it is time for the Father and Daughter dance. No one knows I will be singing till Don takes Dakotas hand and leads her to the center of the floor. I had excused myself a few minutes early from the table and the lights dimmed. This is perfect. Now to belt one out for my girl.
Dakotas POV
Daddy takes my hand and I look around for Jamie but dont spot him anywhere. He walks me to the center of the floor and I wait to hear the music. But instead I hear Jamie come on the mic. Dakota this one is or you and Don. He starts to play the piano and a live band starts playing along. I cant help falling in love with you is on and the tears almost blind me. I am literally sobbing in my dads shoulder as we slow dance on the floor. You are a lucky girl, he says as we sway. But Jamie, is luckier to get to marry you! He leans in and brings me closer to his chest. I lay my head down and sigh. Daddy, thank you so much for being a part of this. Thank you for accepting him and us and loving the girls like they were your blood. I love you guys so much!
The song is almost over and I see Jamie on that stage where he belongs. His voice soothing my soul into a sleep but also lighting it on fire. How can I express all the reasons I love him?
The song ends and My husband takes me by the hand and bows to my dad in respect. I feel like a princess. It is all way to unreal. Love me Like You Do comes on and I smile ear to ear. We dance the night away. I take off my heels because my feet hurt and Jamie brings me a pair of Uggs. He knows what I like. I am literally dancing in Uggs.
We take a bunch of funny pictures while cutting the cake and I have cake all over my face and so does Jamie. The girls got in on the fun and got to pie us in the face with cake for pictures. It was a blast. Its nearly midnight and the guests are staring to go. I thank each one personally for coming and when its just the family, we all have a glass of champagne to end the festivities as the cleaning crew is tidying up.
Mama, comes up next to me I am heading to bed baby girl, but just wanted to say this has been the happiest day of my life. I cannot imagine what you are feeling but he did a fantastic job! Goodnight Mama I love you! I love all of you so much!.
I am exhausted but I know that tonight is not over yet. Jamie gave me a devilish grin earlier when I said I was tired. He is planning something! I just know it!
