Miley

I looked up from my kitchen tools to see my phone lighting up with Nick's name and his rocket emoji trying to get ahold of me, I reached out and swiped the screen with my finger and quickly hit the loudspeaker button and returning to my work.

"What?" I called out.

"I've been standing outside your house for ten minutes, didn't you check your phone? Also I've been using your wifi, and I must say 'Tish's House''s service sucks out here," He said over the phone. I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry, my hands are busy. Give me a sec."

"Don't tell me you started without me!" He dramatically exclaimed. I rolled my eyes again.

"Shut up," I muttered as I wiped my hands with a rag and hung up on Nick. I paced to the front door and with a swift move unlocked the key and revealed Nick, a hand in his pocket and the other gripping his phone while starring at it, annoyed.

I smiled apologetically "Sorry...I was cooking," I explained.

He went inside and observed the apron I had on, he shook his head in disapproval "That is not what I meant by 'wear something sexy'."

I ignored him as we went into the kitchen, he helped himself to a cold beverage from the fridge and took a seat on one of the barstools while I returned to my potatoes.

"Hey do you think Logan acted kind of, I don't know...weird today?" He asked.

"I barely saw him. Why?"

"I dunno, he's kind of mad at me."

"What did you do?"

He scoffed "I didn't do anything. He's just being a baby because I wouldn't tell him who I've been hooking up with."

I looked up slowly to meet his gaze and held it there "You usually tell him?"

Nick hesitated "I never give him any names, but I'd tell him you know? But he's mad now because well...I don't tell him anything at all."

"Why? You're worried he might catch up and find out about us?" I teased and smirk, Nick gave me a quick glare "It's none of his business why is he so sore about it?"

"He'll get over it," I said "Just give him time he'll realize it's a stupid thing to be mad about."

He was quiet after that, finally he said "You're probably right." And I only smirked in response, because I was too focused on smothering paprika on my potatoes. Nick kept talking while I was doing this, and for a moment it felt like we were who we used to be weeks ago. Best friends, talking, hanging out. I don't think I want things to stay the same, after all how we are now are much better. I get to still be friends with the most amazing person I've known in my life and get to have sex with him without the awkwardness.

And it was nostalgic in a way, because this past week I don't remember having a full conversation alone with Nick where he doesn't bring up any dirty thoughts or start to grope me.

"Why are you having dinner so late?" He asked.

"I'm making snacks." I corrected "I already had dinner, there's a lot of left overs in the fridge if you want any."

"Can I eat something else?" He said, but with a husk. I immediately knew what he meant, I aimed a smile at him in response as I picked up the tray with the potatoes and popped them in the oven. "Bake that shit for 30 minutes and they're done," I instructed aloud as I turned the oven on, I heard Nick creeping up behind me.

"Hmm, I wonder what we could do while we wait," He said slowly, I felt his hand on my waist and the other undoing the ribbon behind my neck that ties my apron together. I giggled, impressed how quick Nick can come up with these innuendos.
