"Brooke Bushel, Sereatha Bushel, Asher Cane, Lucy MGgrath, Cody Hernades, and Alex Cane come to the court yard immediately, " A loud voice said over the speaker. Ughhhh I groaned I'd only been asleep for an hour, and it was still pitch black outside.

I can see Sereathas dark unkempt hair ahead of me as I make my way to the court yard in the dead of night. Seriously? Couldn't they have called us out here, you know in the morning? Obviously not I sighed. As I come into the court yard I make out the faint outline of three male figures standing at attention. All around me students in various degrres of clothing crowd around the three men.

"It is time for your test," the dark haired man in the middle states disinterestedly. I could here groans all around me of "But its 2 o'clock in the morning.

"Life doesn't care what time it is," the man says sharply.

"My name is Leon," he points to his left," this is Roy," to his right," and this is Clyde. We are your instructors for this exam." Oh boy, I think, them as instructors?

Ash who I can't help but notice, is the only one fully clothed, stands with his back pressed against the building wall. Obviously he was prepared for this. Though his brother has barely got is eyes open and is only wearing a pair of sweat pants. Unfortunately for me he opens his eyes just enough to catch my oogling eyes, and gives me a smirk.

"You will be placed in groups of three for this exam. Brooke, Asher, and Lucy you are on the defense, you will go with Roy and Clyde to discuss your mission further." Leon says sternly.

We follow Roy and Clyde into the forested hills. There are no lamps, luckily we all have night vision so we move smoothly through the darkness. Finally, we arrive in a heavily wooded area. Ash is the first to take a seat and wait on instruction.

"As you know you three were named the defenders, " Roy ( I think?) Says," The offensive team has been instruscted to hunt you, and your job is to defend yourself. For the next two days you will eat, sleep, and breathe as a wolf. If you shift at anytime you will be disqualified from the exam. As your instructors we will be watching you from the shadows and will intervene if needs. The offensive have been told to catch you and injure you to the point you are no longer able to be able to 'defend. Your objective is to not be killed. You may shift now."

The girl next to me eyes have gotten wide and her face is pale. I don't blame her I think as I let the sensation of the shift tear through my body. The sound of snarls and growls ring through the trees as we all shift. This is a suicide mission, and we all knew it. We were prey. I cringed, my sister is the predator.

'Ready?' I hear a deep voice ask in my head. I glance over at the huge black wolf who has his head cocked towards me. His blue eyes are startling against his fur. It must be Asher. I glance around, the only other wolf in the clearing is a small sleak grey animal, which must be Lucy. Howls fill the air around us sending chills down my spine. The sound of wolves on a hunt. For us.

'Ready as I'll ever be' I send back following him at a run into the darkness. It seems like we've been running for hours, though it hasn't even been one yet. The sound of paws behind us has grown fainter though I could still smell them close. We would have to loose them soon if we wanted any rest. Lucy was struggling to keep us as it is, we'd already had to slow the pace fore her twice. I'll admit Asher can run forever, but I'm faster.

'We'll stop for water soon' his deep voice rumbles in my head.

'Why not stop here?' Lucy's soft voice asks.

'Because the wind isn't in our favor here, they could be waiting in ambush' I state, though its too late as she's already moved towards the small watering hall a couple of feet away.

My eyes widen as a large dark brown wolf lunges from the trees sinking his sharp teeth into her. I look desperately at Asher, who shakes his head 'No'. Howls feel the air as the other wolfs approach. Without a second glance back Asher and I run away. We can hear when the other wolves reach Lucy as her cries of pain grow into screeches. I cringe.

'We'll rest here tonight' he says as we reach a swampy area. I only nod my head in understanding. I head to the water as he stands look out. The waters not clear but I can make myself out in the muddy water. My fur is solid white with one dark tip on my ear, and my eyes are a shocking gold color. The beatiful gold looks haunting in the moonlight.

'I'll take first shift' he say.

I curl myself up into a ball, in one of the dryer parts of the swamp. Finally exhaustion takes over and I drift into sleep.

'Wake up' a voice boomed. I was being jolted around in my sleep.

'We have to Move' it shouts.

I open my eyes and jump to my feets. The others are much closer now.

'You howl in your sleep' he says with a growl. I groan I should have know better. Again we run circling the others in an effort to help them lose our sent. Its seems to have worked.

'We need to hunt, or we want be able to run much farther' I say

' I spotted a heard of deer down stream' he says licking his chomps.

We work our way down the stream away toward dinner. The closer I get the more my stomach growls. By the time we reach them a low growl has begun vibrating my jowls. Ash heads the deer of leading them in my direction. I leap out latching my jaws onto a doe as she flees. Asher pulls her down, while I latch my jaws onto her neck cutting off her air supply. It takes only minutes for her to gasp out her last breathe.

By the time I get to the kill he's already opened her up I growled taking my place at the kill. Yes this is gross, worse then raw stake. My stomach says its so right. I tear into the deer, not noticing that Asher has gone still. He whines and takes off running.

'Run' he growls.

Its too late a large body hits mine and I go tumbling through the air. I stand to face my opponent or all my opponents that is. I growl at the red wolf who was my original attack. My sister is baring her teeth at me and on the attack. The larger darker male is standing back, troubled.

I don't wait for the attack, instead I latch myself onto the scruff of Sereathas neck. I can feel fangs as they rip into my hind leg, but I don't let go. Instead I extend my jaws to her jugular. She screeches in pain. By now my leg is being torn to bits. Then the force of another body hits mine causing my attacker and myself to release. A blurr of black fur tears at the red male. My sister is laying on the ground, scooting away from the action.

'Run!' He growls at me. His blue eyes meet mine and I take off.

What seems like forever later I hear the sounds of paws behind me. Luckily for me its Asher.

'Your leg is mangled' he states

'Yeah, but its already healing' I say refusing to meet his eyes.

'Thank you' I whisper. I finally make eye contact, but only briefly. If wolfs can mentally blush I think I just did.

'Your welcome' he says, with what sounds like a smile? In his mental voice.
