Hathaway is nothing like high school. There are no classes, but we do train. What are we training for you ask? I have no idea. We run every morning at six, and are required to hunt for our food once a week at least. The only time we see our instructors is for our exercises and test.
There are no nerds or populars, there are only us. The outcasts. After only three weeks here I can tell none of us are like the rest of our kind. We all grew up thinking we were something were not.
The only thing that is the same here is, hierarchy. Your either at the top or the bottom. There is no in between bullshit. Except here where you stand is determined not by trivial things, but by pure power. Its all about who's the strongest, who's the fastest, and who's clever enough to survive. In the last week alone I've seen at least 6 fights break out. One of which ended with a student dead.
"Brooke? " Clover asked smiling, as she sprinted beside me.
"Yeah?" I asked. Clover has to be the strangest person I've met here. Shes not a wolf, but she's not quite human either. Yeah we all use to be that way, but with her something just seems off.
"Are you hunting today?" She seemed shy about the question.
"Yeah Alex and I are hunting together."
"Oh well could you possibly ask him how Ash is." She blushed and looked at the ground.
"Yeah." I stated trying not to look guilty. It wouldn't just be Alex and I, but I couldn't tell her that. Clover and Asher are complicated. Well not really. Clover love/hates Ash. Ash just doesn't seem to feel the same. Actually Ash just doesn't really seem to feel at all most of the time.

"Hey there beautiful," Alex said throwing an arm around my shoulder.
"Hands off the merchandise, "I said rolling my eyes and pushing his arm off me.
" You know that's probably the lamest thing I've heard in a while," he said laughing. Mmmmmm, someone is looking good today, I thought to myself. His grey t shirt is glueded to his skin for the run this morning, and his dark hair is everywhere from the wind.
"Well your lame," I said lamely sticking my tounge out.
He leaned in closer, and squinted his eyes at me. I held my breathe a little, not sure what to expect.
"You have a bug in your hair," he said smugly, and turned to walk away. I panicked grabbing at my hair and finding nothing.
"Jerk!"I yelled even though he was halfway across the court yard by now. He heard me though, because he turned and flashed me an arrogant smile.
The room was empty when I got there, whoch was no shock. Everyone's probaby still in the courtyard finishing there run. I grabbed a soda from the fridge and plopped down on the couch. I turned the tv on.
Click. Nothing on chanel 119. And so it went for another 30 minutes, until I settled on The Fairly Odd Parents.
And yes this is what I do most of the time. Call me lazy, but I could relax like this all day. That is until Rain gets here. Its not that we don't get along, but its very tense between her and I. Things between Sereatha and I are the same. Maybe the principal was right about the female thing, because the only girl friend I have here is Clover.
My phone buzzed in my pocket. A text.
'Ready? ' Alex
'Yeah' I replied. I pulled by blonde hair into a ponytail and headed out the door.
It was barely sunset when I made it to the courtyard. A couple of people wondered around. No one I knew. Of course its hard to get to know people when they all seemed to stand-offish to approach.
"Hey," Ash says as he approaches.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Alex will be here in a few. He had to take care of something." He said. He shook his head and met my eyes. His blue eyes were blank. He was never mean to me, but he never really showed intrest in any real conversation.
Alex arrived a few minutes later breaking the awkward silence. Thank god.
The hunt went perfect, as always. Deer are in short supply these last few weeks because of all the wolves hunting. From what Alex said, they had only just recently been forcing them to hunt. So intstead of deer we each caught our selves a rabbit each. Ash finished his and headed back alone.
'Are you ready to head back?' Alex asked.
I pondered for a second and shook my head. I licked my lips getting the blood off, and savoring the taste.
'Okay, so do you wanna talk about something? ' he questioned
'Sure lets talk about you.' I said flashing my fangs in something that resembled a smile.
'What about me?' He asked ears pricking up.
'How did you end up here?'
'Ash and I ran away from home when we were 14. We found Hathaway by accident. '
'Oh.' I said. I didn't want to pry but I was curious.
'Yeah, we've been here ever since. Its weird though we've been here for over a year and still have no idea when they will release us. A couple of students were released, but I have no idea where there at now. I know they say we'll be joining a pack after we leave, but I don't know'
'Yeah its all kind of weird.' I said pondering it.
