Menace In My Mind

ReALiTy

"forever young, I wanna be, forever young"-
One Direction.

When I was little,

I thought that it was true.

The movies and cartoons,

And the storybooks too.

I thought the grand castles,

Of Kings, Queens and more,

Were just round the corner,

Near the grocery store.

I thought that Batman,

With Spidey, Superman and Flash,

Would appear out of nowhere,

When there was a clash.

Noddy and his toytown,

Batman's Gotham.

These places existed,

When I was a kid.

Growing up made me sour,

I learnt that to soon.

No aliens would abduct me

And take me to the moon.

I learnt that in the real world,

The only Flash is me.

I am my Superman and also Bumblebee.

Trying to keep safe in the harsh reality.
