This poem is based on my feelings towards Maven Calore from Victoria Aveyard's novel
"Red Queen".
If you like fantasy,
It's a must read.
P.s- I'm not taking Queen Elara into perspective here. She was evil. But Maven was treated badly.

His bright flame has grown dark indeed.
Fueled by the betrayal,
He seeks power.
He was the shadow of a flame,
Lost in the dark,
Like salt in a dish.
Treated less than he deserved,
Always the second choice,
Always overpowered,
You can't blame him.
You can't blame him,
When he treats you,
The way you did.
You didn't give him,
The things he deserved.
He stayed silent.
You mistook it for peace.
Now when he gets,
The things he wants,
On his own,
His own ways,
You can't blame him,
You made him.
You played with him,
Now you'll get played with.
No one is to blame.
The hottest fires burn blue, and his eyes are no exception.
It's you who did it,
Overpressed a person,
Forced his demons out.
