The dogs, despite Lauren's initial reservations, had actually done amazing work with getting Willa to come out of her shell more. They also taught the little one responsibility as she was constantly doing her part, whether it be opening the back door for the dogs to go out or picking up all of their toys, including her own, at the end of each day.
Lauren's favourite part about having these dogs was the walking. Every evening the group would take a stroll around the neighbourhood or take a short trip to the beach (despite the mess it made with the sandy paws), Willa walking Raider while Dinah took Laker and Lauren had Leo. The puppies loved to smell all of the trees or run through the shallow water. The best part of the walks was when they would let the three dogs off leash, allowing Willa to run around with them, all the while calling their names so they'd get better at recall.
Despite the occasional chewed up shoe (primarily by Raider) or a missing sock or two (compliments of Laker and Leo), the dogs were undoubtedly a great idea and the family was grateful to have the best pets with them.
"EWWW EWWW EWWW!" Dinah screamed, running through the backdoor of the house with Laker and Leo close behind, trying to nip at her heels.
"What's wrong? Stop bringing water into the house!" Ally demanded, groaning as she stood up from the kitchen table and saw the trail of pool water following her friend.
"The kid stepped in a pile of dog crap!" Dinah declared, pointing to Willa who stood in the yard still, her eyes wide as she worried this would get her in trouble.
"Poor baby," Lauren laughed lightly, standing up and moving outside to see her bikini cladded little one dripping water as well as Raider. They really didn't want the dogs in the pool but wherever Willa went, Raider went. "What's up, sweetpea?"
"I'm sorry m-lolo. I stepped in Raider's poopoo," Willa explained, lifting her foot to show off her brown toes, making Lauren cringe.
"That must be stinky. I'm going to grab a hose to clean you up," Lauren explained, showing how she wasn't angry at all and that this was an easy problem to fix. "DINAH JANE CLEAN UP THE POOP!" Lauren called as she approached the house and grabbed the hose, beginning to unwind it in the direction of Willa.
"Got it," The Poly said, walking out with a poop bag wrapped around her hand. She picked Willa up under her armpits and told her to keep her foot up, moving her over a foot so she could pick up the shit on the ground.
Willa continued to balance on one foot, plugging her nose with her fingers so she wouldn't smell the gross stuff between her toes.
"I've got you," Lauren said, squeezing the hose and allowing the water to squirt out, instantly getting rid of the poop coating the little toes.
"That's cold!" Willa giggled, opening and closing her toes around the stream of water.
"It must be, WillaBee. Little bit more," Lauren ran the hose up and down Willa's foot once more before smiling slyly and lifting it up, hitting the child in the stomach with the stream of water, making her laugh loudly.
"No! Not my tummy," Willa said, running away from the hose, Raider instantly joining after her.
"Hey, Dinah," Lauren called, turning the hose on her unsuspecting friend, hitting her right in the face.
"That's it, Lauser. You're dead," Dinah dropped the closed bag of poop and ran after the Latina, getting her close to the pool edge before shoving her in.
"Dinah, no!" Lauren screamed before going under. Dinah at least had a bikini on, Lauren on the other hand was still dressed in her day clothes.
"Me too!" Willa declared, jumping into the shallow end and standing on her toes to keep her head up so she could watch the two women fight.
