The bald, fat guy hated his wife. This morning she gave him only a bowl of rice with some kimchi, as if it would be enough to satiate his big appetite. Then she dares to call him a pig. "Huh! What a wretched woman." He cursed as he shove a hamburger into his mouth while driving to work.

When he arrived at the convenient store, he couldn't find the new part-timer at the cash counter. "Tchk! I know he couldn't last for a night." He dialed him up, obviously annoyed. To his surprise, he could hear it ringing somewhere in the distance. He checked the aisles and the washroom. And when he checked the store room, he was taken aback at the sight of a young boy laying half naked on the floor. There were numerous bruises over his weak body; some covered with bandages, some were only treated with an antiseptic.

"Boss?!" Baekhyun called him out from behind. He turned around and noticed some medicines in the part-timer's hands. "Thank god you came early." "Is he dead?" The fatso was sweating profusely. "Dead? Haha, no." Taehyung wailed in pain in his stupor. "I'll tell you everything later. For now my duty is over. I'll take my leave." The boss only nodded and watched as Baekhyun helped the half naked boy stand and then he walked him out.

It was hard to see the definite features of the brunette boy since his face was all swollen from the heavy punches from last night. "Where to start?" Baekhyun sighed as he looked at his mangled body. It took him almost an hour to treat him. Baekhyun was good at treating such wounds from his past experiences.

He stepped back when he was done, his back killing him. The boy was still unconscious. If not for Baekhyun, anyone who found the brunette would have rushed him to a nearby hospital but Baekhyun knew better.

His phone went off. Baekhyun fished it out of his pocket. It was his Father. He rolled his eyes in annoyance and declined the called.

"Oh finally. I thought you'd never wake up. Lol how silly of me." The boy squirmed in terror and tried to get up but failed miserably. "Careful, there." Baekhyun rushed to him. "I won't hurt you."

The effects of the painkiller wore off and every inch of Taehyung's body began to hurt. He was sore all over. He slowly inched his arms under him and pushed himself up on his hands. Everything blurred for a minute, then came back into focus again.

For the first time Taehyung took in his surroundings. It seemed like they were in a dungeon. "Who are you? And where am I?" The troubled teen asked with some effort. "This? This is my home, which also happens to be... a junkyard basement." Baekhyun took no pride is saying that. "You look like you haven't eaten since forever. So I made you some ramyeon." Baekhyun disappeared into the kitchen before he could say anything and came back with two bowls of noodles. "Let's eat!" He grinned and his eyes were almost closed.

The wooden table was squeaky. Baekhyun noticed the haggard looking boy wolfing down the food. Baekhyun was right. He hadn't really eaten since three days. "I'll get you some rice too." Baekhyun left to prepare some in a worry.

Taehyung's cheeks were stuffed, still he kept shoving food into it. Who knows when he might get a good meal again. He suddenly thought about his father and all the memories from last night flashed into his mind. He was now angry, confused, and embarrassed. Hot tears blurred his vision. He wondered if this strange boy saw everything last night. Suddenly he was furious.

Taehyung hated being pitied. He hated being pitied even when he was a child. He didn't cry when he was scolded, or when he got beaten up, not even when his father abandoned him, but being pitied always made him feel helpless and angry.

His appetite was gone now. Slowly he stood up, groaning. He looked around and found his sweat shirt. He placed a few bills on the table before limping his way out.
