Taehyung adjusted his jaw, flinching, his nose still bleeding from the punch. He looked at the spoiled brat sitting across the table. The dining room was bigger than his home. "Treat yourself." Yong Guk said. For Taehyung, the feast laid out infront of him did not seemed appetizing at all. He hated the fact that he was dragged out there against his will. Taehyung looked away in disgust.
"Is something the matter?" The chaebol's voice was soft. "Why am I here?" The angered brunette asked. "Ah! That." Yong Guk smiled, "I wanted to know what's taking so long for you to think about my proposal. You see, I'm a bit impatient." "I gave you my answer that day itself." The younger one said sternly.
Yong Guk laughed it off, he rose from his seat and walked up to his guest with his hands in pockets, "Taehyung, Taehyung, Taehyung. You know you're the first person who dared to test my patience." He raised a brow, "You think I'm the type of person who would take a no for an answer?" At that moment he noticed the bruises around the boy's lips and a strange feeling overtook him.
"Who did this to him?" He growled, seething. One of his men stepped out, "The boy was-" before he could finish his sentence a flying fork struck into his arm. He fell to the ground, wailing. YongGuk pushed his gelled strands back from his forehead and shooed him away. Quickly his men took the unfortunate one of his sight.
Yong Guk pulled out a napkin and leaned in to wipe off the blood from the boy's lips when he looked away in disgust, hurting the older one's pride.
Yong Guk couldn't help but wonder if Taehyung loathed him
much that. For the first time he felt completely helpless. It was as if the boy had an impenetrable wall around him. "Don't worry, I will never touch you without your permission." He said coolly and carefully dabbed his napkin over the wound.Taehyung couldn't take it anymore. He quickly stood up from his chair and backed off. "Just let me go." He said slowly, anger boiling up. Yong Guk did not intimidated him but he did not wanted to push his luck.
Yong Guk smirked, perfectly concealing his offended self behind a mask, and walked back to his chair. "On one condition." He sat himself. "Work for me." The bruised one gave him a perplexed look. "I know you're on the run. Choi Hyung Tae is a pain in the a**, right?" Taehyung was speechless. He wondered what else he knew about him. "I'll pay you per trip if you drive me around the town. It's a win-win situation." Yong Guk was desperate to keep him around.
Taehyung needed money and money was all he was offering. The brunette wondered if the guy sitting infront if him could be trusted?
"And, needless to say, the earlier offer still stands." Yong Guk added.
Taehyung has never been so conflicted before. He kept juggling the pros and cons, his mind never stopped thinking. And before he know it, he found himself infront of the convenient store where Baekhyun works.
"He didn't come today?" The brunette repeated what he just heard. "I knew he wouldn't last long. Tsk!" The store owner whined. Taehyung thought for a while. He had a bad feeling about this. "He must be late." He suggested.
Taehyung waited for Baekhyun outside the store for almost two hours. Something felt off. When he couldn't wait any longer, he rushed to his home to check on him. To his surprise, the basement was in the same state as it was when he left that morning. Taehyung's heart was beating rapidly, he was panting from all the running, he put his hands on his knees to catch a breath. "Where is he?"
