Taehyung looked around the basement and noticed how cleverly Baekhyun turned it into a habitable space. It was clean and dust free, Taehyung was impressed. He was too unstable to notice it all the first time he came there.

He glanced at the fishbowl on the coffee table and tapped it with a finger. The fish swam faster. "Getting along with Channie, eh?" Baekhyun asked. The brunette quickly pulled back his hand into his sleeve.

Baekhyun noticed Taehyung's dirty clothes and his grubby face. He was suddenly reminded of his younger self. He must have looked the same when he first met Father. He remembered how overwhelmingly big Father's house was. He was fascinated by the huge aquarium he had in his living room.

"Wash up!" A boy not much older than him said. "Father says it is very important to take care of one's hygiene." "Who are you?" Little Baekhyun inquired. "Me? I'm Ji Chang Wook. Father said you are my little brother."

Baekhyun's breath hitched at the memory, his eyes glassy. He cleared his throat and quickly fetched a pair of jeans with a sweatshirt along with a towel. "Go wash up. I'll fix some dinner till then."

The brunette didn't question Baekhyun's kindness for he knew what the black haired teen was offering was a luxury he couldn't afford anywhere else.

Taehyung took a while in the shower. And when he came back, his eyes were swollen. Baekhyun was already waiting for him at the dining table with the food infront of him. Baekhyun remembered from earlier and made sure to put two bowls of rice for the boy.
"Sit down." Taehyung seated himself across him. There were not much, only some rice with some kimchi and a side dish. The brunette hesitated before starting. "Dig in." Baekhyun said.

They ate in silence, the air was awkward between them. "How old are you?" Baekhyun asked, breaking the ice. "Seventeen." the boy replied slowly with his mouth full. Only a year younger than me, Baekhyun thought. "School? Did you go to school?" Taehyung simply nodded a yes in response.

School was nothing but a battleground for Taehyung. He'd get constantly bullied for the reasons he couldn't understand. They called him 'weak' because he didn't fought back. It was ironic how it'd never occurred to them that his silence might be the only option he had to stop the situation from getting worse. After all, he was a no match for their strength.

However, he still looked forward to going to school only to see his crush, Mira.

Baekhyun couldn't sleep that night. He was sore all over from the fight earlier. When he finally got off of his bed to get a glass of water, he noticed the brunette was awake too. He kept tossing and turning. May be because the couch was a little too small for him? Baekhyun couldn't help but notice the new bruises on the brunette's back.

Taehyung was startled by the touch of the cold beer can on his hand. He quickly sat upright. Taehyung noticed the elder didn't had one for himself. "There are some movies in there if you want." Baekhyun pointed at the T.V cabinet and began walking back to his room.

Taehyung popped the can open and took a sip. The cold drink lifted up his mood instantly. He looked over at the T.V, it's not a bad idea actually, he thought. He was done thinking about everything that has gone wrong in his life. He needed to take his mind off.

It was suddenly warm, his face became red when he browsed through Baekhyun's collection of movies. He wondered if the short teen was awake bc he'd be needing total privacy.

Taehyung woke up late the next morning and found some breakfast on the table. Baekhyun had already left for work. The brunette felt burdened by his kindness.

This won't do, he thought.

He quickly put on his sweatshirt and headed out when suddenly a black van pulls up infront of him and a couple of men usher out of it. Before he know it, a rock hard punch out of no where lands on his face and knocks him out.
