HOPE YOU ENJOY IT! It's my first time doing a Peter Quill one shot so bear with me y'all!

"Oh my god, I am so nervous," Peter speaks from the other room and I can hear Rockets mocking laughter in response.

"Don't be such a wuss, Starry-Eyed. It's just a date," Rocket reassures him.

Peter scoffs. "Have you even been on a date before?"

A long pause is heard before he responds. "No, but at least I wouldn't be a wuss like you," Rocket retorts.

"You are no help," I hear Peter mutter.

"Well, do I look like a dating expert to you?" Rocket exclaims. "No, Groot, I'm not but if I was, my first piece of advice would be to not look like a--"

"--a wuss. Yeah, I got it. Thanks."

I walk into the main part of the ship, crossing my arms and watching the scene unfold in amusement. "You boys having fun arguing?" I bite my lip to refrain from laughing as the three jump at the sound of my voice.

Peter's eyes widen, a hand running through his hair. "W-What? No, we weren't ... We weren't arguing! We were just conversing?"

I let out a laugh, rolling my eyes and going to stand beside him. "I thought you were good at talking to girls?" I raise an eyebrow.

Gamora replies before Peter can. "He's an idiot really. Hopefully, he doesn't trip over his own feet." She smirks, leaning against the ship's wall. "But it would be pretty funny if he did."

Peter rolls his eyes. "Ha ha, very funny. You're all hilarious."

Drax walks in, his knives in hand. "I do think we are all very hilarious. Especially when it comes to making fun of Quill."

Rocket turns to face me. "Why are you going out with this idiot anyway? Is it because you feel sorry for him or do you actually like him?"

"I think she likes me," Peter mumbles and I grin.

"I like him, Rocket. Now, we have a date to get to," I say, grabbing Peter's hand and making our way out of the ship. "Don't do anything we wouldn't do!"

"What would they not do?" Drax questions as we leave to the others.

Peter's grip tightens on my hand slightly and I feel his nerves on fire as I look over at him. "Why are you so nervous?"

He smiles sheepishly. "This is my first proper date in a while so can you blame me if I'm a bit nervous?"

I let out a laugh, pecking his cheek. His cheeks turn red as I pull away. "Well, let's get on with this date."

Peter starts to take charge, leading me down the streets of Zandar and approaching a car. "I, uh, rented a car for this date. Hope you don't mind," Peter says, smiling nervously.

I shrug. "I don't care."

He nods, letting go of my hand. He reaches for the car door, fidgeting with the door handle. Peter finally gets the door open and I get inside the passenger seat, letting out a small giggle.

Peter goes around and gets in the drivers side, starting the engine. We start moving down the road, the wind from outside blowing into the car.

"So, what have you prepared for this date?" I ask Quill and he laughs.

"That's a surprise," He retorts and I curse, a small smile gracing my lips as he laughs again.

Another laugh leaves my mouth when I hear Peter playing one his favourite songs. "Hooked on a feeling," He belts out, a small grin playing on his face. It was things like this that made me fall for this dork.

Peter and I had met in Zandar; I had helped him and the others escape from prison. That's how I officially got on their team and got to know all of them better. Gamora and I are pretty close and she helps me spar a lot.

"Here we go," Peter sings out, putting the car in park and smiling at me. "The best date ever ... Well, I think it is."

I laugh, grasping his hand and looking out the window to see a beautiful meadow. We get out of the car, Peter leading me inside the greens of the meadow until we reach an already laid out picnic blanket and basket.

"This is so cute," I tell him, taking a seat next to him on the blanket.

Peter grins lopsidedly, opening ip the picnic basket and taking out some food. Sandwiches, different candies, lemonade, and--

"You got donuts!? How?!" I exclaim, grasping the box of a dozen chocolate donuts.

He winks at me, taking the box and placing it back in its spot. "A gentleman never tells."

I roll my eyes, smirking a bit. "I wonder where the gentleman is then."

Peter playfully glares at me, intertwining his right hand with mine. "Oh shut up."

I let out another laugh, as does Peter, his eyes twinkling under the sunlight. It's when I notice the slight nervous ticks in his moments; the slight shaking of his hand in mine, the uneasy smile.

"Peter?"

He turns his head to me. "Hmm?"

I smile softly. "You alright?" I ask.

Peter lets out a breath. "I'd be lying if I said I was," He starts, squeezing my hand a bit tighter. "I'm just a little nervous. I - I've like you for so long and I just can't believe this is real." His voice tones down into a whisper near the end.

I scoot closer to him, lifting up his head towards mine. "There's nothing to be nervous about, Quill. I want this just as much as you do."

He gives me another smile; this times its relaxed and reaches his eyes. "Thank god. It would of been really awkward if you didn't. I mean, of course you do because you're here and you're on this date with me an--mmph,"

Peter's words are cut off when I crush my lips with his, leaning closer into his warmth. He instantly relaxes again, curling an arm around my torso and lifting me into his lap.

I pull away with a grin, my eyes fluttering open and they meet with Quill. "Sorry. You just wouldn't shut up."

Peter laughs, pecking my lips again. "Uh, don't worry about it. I think it worked out in our favours anyway."

Not sliding off his lap, I reach for the box of donuts and lift it in front of his face. "So, can we eat these?"

The sounds of our laughter can be heard from miles on end; Rocket and Groot are probably dying in it.
