[ Chapter 2 : The Witch and the Shinigami? ]
"Although Medea had a painful past full of long, torturous days, she is a strong person. She likes knowledge and everything that doesn't hurt her." Lord Death continued.
"Medea is one of my students; the best of the class. She really loves to study..." Stein said thoughtfully, more to himself than anyone else.
"My Maka gets along with her well..." Spirit added. Then, a very... brilliant idea came to mind..."Wait! She's a witch! What if she's using a spell on all of us to make us put trust in her, and then she, she plans, to trap us! She is Medusa's daughter!"
The other two stared at him. Suddenly, the Shinigami's hands popped out, and he said, "Reaper... Chop!"
"Ah! Owww.... that hurt, Shinigami-samaaa!" Spirit whined.
"If you don't be careful, then I'll Shingami Chop you."
"IT'S A LITTLE LATE FOR A WARNING, DON'T YOU THINK?!"
Five Years Back: Kid
She shoves a croissant at me. I accept it, taking a bite. It is sweet... chocolate? In a croissant? No one on Death City ever did that... But it is good; really good.
I complement her on how delicious the rare treat us, then I start to describe her soul. Neon blue and cobalt are her regrets and sorrows, red is her hatred, white is loss, and purple is love for a specific family member. She tells me that her love is not just for her little brother, but for me, too. Because we're friends. That would make a first for me.
I blush, trying, and failing, to hide behind my half-eaten pastry. "... O-oh..." I stutter, while she just giggles.
"Uh, why did you want to come to my house?" She asks me. "Well, I call it a house, but--"
"I want to invite you to come to Death City with me. Please?"
"But where would I--"
"At Shibusen! Or in Death Manor. But the problem arises here if you choose the manor. You see, if you leave something lying around in an asymmetrical way, I'll want to clean out up immediately. Just letting you know, but I hope that it doesn't scare you away..."
"Scare me away? Ha ha! I've already made friends with you! It doesn't matter what your cleaning habits are!" She says, laughing.
"That's great." I say, relieved.
"Wait... isn't your hair asymmetrical? Those three white stripes on one side?"
"... What..." I say flatly. I feel a tantrum coming on. I point to my hair. "Th-these? The Sanzu Lines...?"
"Mm-hm!" She says, nodding.
"EYAAAH! WHY DID I HAVE TO BE BORN WITH THESE HORRIBLE LIIIINES?!! I'M BRAINLESS GARBAAAAGE!! JUST PUT ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON GARBAGE DAAAYY!!!" I scream, dropping to my knees and crying.
"W-wait a minute, Kid-kun! Um, um... I know! Just dye your hair! Yeah! That'll make you symmetrical!"
Of course, that only makes me cry harder. "UWAA!! DON'T YOU THINK I'VE TRIED THAAAT?! THESE STUPID LINES WON'T GO AWAAAAYY!!"
"C-calm down, Kid! Uh... I could try and use a spell to make them disappear!" She suggests."
"THAT WON'T WORK, EITHER! A SHINIGAMI'S SANZU LINES ARE PERMANENT!!"
