I didn't know how long it had been, but now I was weak and my head hurt. Adila had left and it was just Kili and I. Even after death, no one could separate us. I laid next to my brother and played with his hair.

"Fili, our kingdom has been breached," Adila informed me as she came back in. I sat up and fixed my eyes on my wife, she still wore her beautiful red dress.

"What? There were only three hundred," I questioned as I rubbed my eyes. Adila let out a sigh and then sat down not far from me.

"There were more. Everyone is down in the mines," Adila informed me. I nodded my head and got up. I would come mourn later on, but for right now my kingdom needed me. I jogged down the stairs and opened the door. As I opened it I was met by a few guards and Tauriel.

"What do we do, your highness? We are ready to fight," a guard asked. I cleared my throat and thought for a few seconds. Many years ago I would have thought very quickly and come up with a plan, but I was becoming rather weak in the mind. I began to walk to my son's bedroom. Since Kili had died I ordered that my family go back to their bedrooms, in which they did. I knocked on his door and then opened it.

I entered my son's bedroom. His bedroom was my old bedroom, it was decorated like any other bedroom with a bed, desk, wardrobe, and dresser. The wall had a painting of my family. I looked over at the bed where Fillion was, he was reading a book.

"Fillion, I need your assistance. The kingdom has been breached. We have all of the soldiers hiding within the mines. We need a plan," I told him. He put the book down and sat up. He nodded his head and then began to think. Within a few seconds he began to throw out a plan.

"Let the kingdom be breeched. When the orcs and wargs find that no one is here then they will begin to collect the gold. The mines are close to our stash, therefore we will hide in the shadows of the mines. When they have collected their stash then we will attack, they won't be worrying about us," Fillion explained to me. I was satisfied with the plan.

"Get your weapons and wear your armor, you are going to lead the army into battle," I told him. He let out a great smile, and got up from his bed. I went to his desk and began to write a letter to inform my soldiers of our plan. Adila then ran in.

"Fili, they are coming upstairs," Adila cried as she came in. I quickened my pace and finished writing the battle plan. When it was done I turned to my wife and handed her the letter.

"Send that down to the mines, then go get Fern and Fergie. Go take shelter in the private hall, and prepare Kili's body for a funeral," I ordered her. She nodded her head. She then grabbed my neck and pulled me in. She gave me a long, big kiss. She then let go and turned the other way. I stood there dumbfounded, she hadn't kissed me like that for a very long time. I watched her leave the room, and then i looked over at my son who came out of the washroom.

"We go down to the mines," I told him. He nodded his head not knowing that the orcs were headed for us. I rather let him think that we would still be safe. I turned around.

I walked out of the bedroom and down the hallway. I began to go down the stairs as quietly as possible when I heard a scream. I turned around to find my son. He could tell that the scream was close. I gave a sigh and then began to run down the stairs no longer afraid of death. I kept running down the stairs regardless if there were going to be a thousand orcs I had to face.

I made it down to the commoners level. I looked around  to see that those who didn't listen to my orders to get down to the mines were spread out across the floor in pieces. My son who hadn't seen such gore let out a surprised gasp. As we stood there staring at the deceased dwarves I noticed that there was movement down the hall.
