Chapter 5

The force with which I lunged at him came as a total surprise to him as well as to me. He lost his balance and stumbled backwards trying to regain it. We both fell out of Davis’s office and in front of the newbie’s desks.

“You son of a bitch!” I yelled at him.

“You bitch!” He yelled at me. “Get off me! Do you know how much you weigh?”

I stiffened on top of him. Immediately I pushed myself up on my arms and straddled his torso. Of course in future, if someone ever asked me, I’ll say that I was out of my mind with rage and didn’t realise what I was doing. But zap me twice if I didn’t like sitting on top of him. Not to mention the not-so-innocent thoughts that were roaming freely in my mind.

It was his fault. Come on! I am a perfectly normal, straight, red blooded woman. Who wouldn’t jump this guy’s bones who was made like a Greek God. I am damned sure Aphrodite, Goddess of desire and pleasure, made him just for her pleasure. That handsome chiselled face, those hard muscles, the hard abs under my hands, that beautiful face, everything makes him a walking wet dream for women and gay guys.

The only flaw is his attitude. Which brought me back to the present. Gosh I have to stop fantasising about him. Especially when he called me fat!

“Are you calling me fat?” I asked softly. Even though my voice was soft you could make out that I was barely controlling my anger. I leaned down and looked straight in his eyes.

He smirked at me. “Not at all, darling. Though I have one request.”

“What?” I asked, perplexed but still angry.

“Move a little bit down.” His voice turned husky and I could see that he actually meant it. His hands came around me and tapped my hip, dangerously close to my butt.

I gasped when his words sunk in.  Outraged, I sat back on his torso and looked at him wide-eyed.

“You- you- you-”

“Sexy?” He supplied with a smirk.

“Aargh!” I gave a war cry and started punching him (or rather tried to punch him).

“Stop it, Spitfire. Ouch! That hurt! Oh fuck.” He started groaning after I jabbed his sides.

“Gooooooo Maasi!” Suddenly I heard two children’s voice encouraging me. “Go Maasi, go Massi!”

I stiffen on top of Lucas and I felt him freeze as well. Both of us looked at each other with confusion and then slowly looked at the source of the voices. There standing near Mike, I see two people, who I asked to stay in my cabin, clapping and jumping around. Aaditya’s hands were fisted and he was punching the air whereas Amara is simply clapping and jumping, her pigtails swishing in the air. Their faces held ear-to-ear wide grins. This is the first time in three months I’m seeing them this happy. Sure, they laugh and smile but you could always sense a kind of sadness in them but today they are truly happy.

“Your kids?” Lucas asks, his expression shocked yet a small smile was making its way. See, this is the effect my sweethearts have on people. No matter how much you dislike kids you just cannot stop smiling in their presence.

“Yup, my babies.” I answer still dazed. “What are you two doing here? I told you to stay in my office.” I got up from my position and faced the two brats.

All the excitement leeched out of them and their expression changed to the cutest puppy-dog look I have ever seen.

“We just heard you fighting so we came out to give you mo-mo-mural-” Amara hesitated and fell into deep thought.
