Two Days 'Til Christmas - Hey Look, I'm Not Titling This One.

Troye's pov

"Oi! Look at that one!" Allie gawks, pointing at the herds of boys at the mall.

I shrug, "Not my type."

She scoffs, "Everyone is your type."

"Not him," I chuckle.

He's got a bowl cut and is wearing a big poofy, purple coat, he's far from 'my type'.

"Well, pick one out. I haven't seen my boy Troye in action in a while." She rubs her hands together, smiling at the boys.

I shrug again, "I don't want one."

She backtracks, "You don't want one?! C'mon, they're right there."

"God, we talk about boys like they're toys, Allie." I murmur, "It's not right."

She frowns, looking at me and sighing.

"Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't know you saw it that way." She apologises.

"It's just, it's what we've always done." She adds.

I nod, "I know, but I think we need to stop doing some of the things we do. Boys aren't toys, girls aren't desperate pusses, and old people aren't that hot."

She narrows her eyes and steps back, clapping her hands together at her chest.

"... you're changing," Allie says in a small, proud little voice.

"So what?" I can't help but mirror her smile.

Her eyes seem to twinkle in glee, "No, it's not a bad thing. I'm happy for you."

"Well... thank you Allie. I'm trying."

And within a few minutes we go back to our regular rants, walking around the mall and picking out gifts. This time, believe it or not, I picked out things for my family. I've never gotten a single one of them a present for Christmas before. I hope they like it.

...

tw: homophobia

"So, are we excited for tomorrow or what?" Dad speaks with a bread roll in his mouth, muffling his voice a bit.

I cringe and mask up a fake as ever smile, "Yeah, totally Dad."

Steele shrugs while Sage chirps a yes and Tyde grumbles a 'whatever'.

Dad swallows his food, "Aye, why aren't you in the Christmas mood, kiddo? We aren't gonna have none of this tomorrow."

"Yes, we're going carolling." Mum agrees.

Tyde shrugs, "'m just tired, couldn't get any sleep last night because someone wouldn't shut up with the sobbing."

He nods to me, making all eyes turn my way. I look down at my soup and feel my cheeks heat up.

"Tyde that was awfully rude. Troye, you okay, love? Why were you crying?" Mum asks, tilting her head to the side and resting her chin on her palm.

Tyde rolls his eyes while I lift my shoulders up, subtly waving her off.

"I'm alright, it's nothing. Just uh- just uh- yeah, no, it's nothing." I stammer, mentally face palming myself.

She knits her brows together but nods nonetheless.
