Chapter 13: Preliminary Test 

I entered the tower and opened both of my scrolls, smoke came out of the scrolls and I stood back. "Yo." said a familiar silver haired Jonin. "Hello Sensei we have an important Sanin-like matter to speak of." I said ominously. Kakashi rises an eyebrow in confusion. I walked up to Kakashi and leaned toward his ear. "Orochimaru is here, I fought against him to give Sauske and the others a head start. I doubt I killed him but I'm sure he has my name written on his to-die list." I whispered. I pulled back to see Kakashi stare at me wide eyed. I was suddenly pulled into a hug. I stared widely behind Kakashi, he didn't say anything and neither did I.

I walked into a room with other Genin and looked around. I saw Gaara and his team, Kiba's team, Shika's team, Lee's team, I didn't know the others. I walked over to Gaara's team and smiled. Kankuro and Gaara glared while Temari looked confused as to why I was smiling around Gaara. I turned to Gaara, "Hi, Gaara how are you." He just glared at me. I just smiled and kept blabbing as if he was talking back to me, sure I was scared but not of Gaara I was terrified of the one tailed beast inside of him. Temari and Kankuro looked at me as if I was insane but in Temari's eyes I saw hope for Gaara. "ASAMI!!" I heard from behind me, I turned to se Kiba walking quickly to me.

"Hi Kiba! Come meet my friend Gaara!" I shouted to him. Everybody looked at me as if I was insane. I just smiled, Kiba and grabbed me and pulled me behind him. "Wrong person to pick as a friend Ami-chan." he growled at Gaara, I pushed him back. "I remember that I can pick my friends for myself Kiba-kun." I said glaring at him. Here I am trying to be nice to a kid with care issues and he butts in, Kiba flinched. I look toward him and smile, "Sorry Kiba-kun, I was just being nice and you were rude so I snapped." I walked up to him and hugged him. "ASAMI!" I hear Sakura shout at me. I was then pulled from Kiba and was hugged by her. " I thought you died!" she shouted in my ear. " I will go deaf Sakura if you don't stop shouting in my ear." I wined.

Sakura let me go and I turned to my teammates and saw a smirking Sauske and a confused Naruto. I smiled, "Hey Naruto meet my friend Gaara, remember him?" I said pointing to a confused Gaara with a smile. I turned to Sauske with a serious face, letting Naruto talk with Gaara. Sauske didn't look hurt but I wouldn't put it past him to act tough. "Hey, you ok Ducky?" I asked. He nodded, " No more run-ins with Moo-moo or our purple friend?" I asked. He shook his head at the last one then nodded his head at the second name. I frowned, "You ok Ami-Chan?" I blushed at the nickname Kiba gave me, I nodded my head not letting him see my blush. Then the Hokage walked forward and started talking, I sighed and zoned out.

"First match Asami Keiko vs. Kabuto Yakushi." Coughed Hayate Gekkō, our proctor. I turned to Chie and told her to stay then smirked and jumped down to the arena. "How is Moo-moo Kabuto, he feeling well?" I asked. Kabuto glared at me. "Begin!" Hayate coughed. I used Shika's hand sign and Kabuto froze. I placed my hand behind my back and around my cape and pulled out my Katana, forcing Kabuto to as well. I ran towards him and pointed my Katana at his neck he in turn pointed nothing, this was a simple way to win without showing my abilities.

"Hayate, he wont be able to move unless I release him I suggest you call off this fight and proclaim me the winner before I shed blood." I smirked at Kabuto who was trying to force himself out of my mind control. It was almost working I needed Hayate to finish up. "The winner is Asami Keiko." He announced. I withdrew my Katana and released Kabuto. "See ya later my gay purple enemy." I said smartly jumping out of the arena. 

When I went back to my friends Shikamaru was the first to ask me a question. "How do you know the Shadow possession technique and how did you do it without moving your shadow?" I smirked. "I actually don't know you're jutsu." I said smartly. "Why the handsigns then?" he asked. "It was to hide my actual technique from everyone else. Its going to be a surprise for the actual exam." I replied.

I knew nobody was proud of my battle because it was too easy for me to win, it made them fear me. I turned to the screen that now said 'Sauske Uchiha vs. Yoroi Akado' I walked up to Sauske, "Don't let him touch you." I said smiling then I walked towards a chair and fell asleep. Then I was rudely awakened by a "HEY ASAMI WAKE UP ITS MY TURN, WHATCH ME BEAT THE CRAP OUTTA KIBA BELIEVE IT!!!" I jumped out of my seat and fell onto the floor, I glared at my orange clad teamate. He flinched and jumped into the arena avoiding my wrath. I sighed and leaned agains the railing. I whatched him fight Kiba.

Everytime either would hit the other I would flinch. I felt Chie place her head against my leg when Akumaru got hit. I patted her head and kept whatching as the two guys I cared for hit eachother. I my brain then registered my thoughts. I see Naruto as a brother but what about Kiba? I asked myself. I pondered this question until I heard a terrible scream coming from Kiba in the arena I look up to see Kiba holding his nose and his eyes watering. I then remember the cause of the scream and laugh quietly behind my hand. 

 When the match was over I hugged Naruto and told him that he did well. I walked to the hospital area and followed Chie to where we could smell Kiba and Akumaru. I looked through the doorway to see Kiba staring at Akumaru sadly. I knocked on the door frame. "Hey you ok?" I asked. Kiba nodded and I walked over. "I wish I could say the same for Akamaru though, Naruto can sure pack a punch." he said softly. I looked at Akumaru then at Chie, I saw her sad face and sighed. "I couldn't imagine if Chie was hurt." I said softly. I leaned on Kiba, "I'm sorry I can't do anything for him I wish I could but I'm no medical ninja." I sighed. Kiba wrapped his arms around me from behind and buried his face in my hair. "It's alright Ami-chan he just needs rest." I turned aroundand whispered, "Ami-chan?"   

I could hear his heart quicken. "Uh.....yea it's just that you have a nickname for me so I thought it was only fair to give you one." he said quickly. I smirked, "I like it."
