I found myself in a murky, dark green place. It was sea-like, but I was standing on the water. As I began to walk forward, the water splashed up around my heels.
WOOSH.
What. The. Hell. Was. That?
'Y/n?' I quickly turned around, my body going slightly before my head. I gasped,
'... Jasper?' I said hopefully.
'Y/n!' She cried out relieved. A grin plastered itself to my face. I laughed joyfully, grateful to the Diamonds that she was okay. Running towards her, my heart filled with love and glee. She grabbed the water, dragging herself forwards and crawling like she couldn't walk, or at least not very well. When we embraced, it felt like an eternity. The world around us stopped. Half of my heart had returned. We were reunited and that was all I needed.
'Where have you been?' She asked.
'On Homeworld. Mourning. About you and Peridot. Yelling at Yellow Diamond.' At that she let go of me and held on tight to my shoulders. She looked into my eyes with concern and worry showing in them.
'Why? What has she done now? Did she hurt you? Oh, if she did. I don't care who she is, I'll fight until she's gone if she hurt you, I-'
'Jasper,' I spoke, 'It's fine. She wanted me to go on a mission to Earth. That's where I am now. I agreed. I just protested because of what happened to Peridot's ship. And the fear of what would happen if you were shattered and I came across your shards.'
'Thank the Diamonds.'
'What about you? Where have you been? I've been absolutely worried sick, you big idiot!' I laughed, punching her playfully.
'Hey, hey! I fused with Lapis. She tricked me into thinking she was on our side and she was actually not. She dragged me out to sea and we've been here for months. Fighting. It was my last resort if I didn't want to get shattered by those stupid, rebellious Crystal Gems. They can't be said.'
'Heh, about that. I'm working with them.'
'WHAT.'
'Steven is my brother. He's Rose Quartz's son.'
'So she- he- I don't know- isn't actually Rose Quartz?'
'No. Not at all. The Crystal Gems are actually good gems. I learnt the truth about what happened. Long story short, Yellow Diamond kidnapped me from Earth and raised me as her own, telling me lies my whole life.'
'How come you don't remember being kidnapped?'
'I was very young. And I should trust Yellow Diamond, but I just feel... right with them. A connection, like I'm meant to be there.'
'When I get back, I promise I'll give them a chance. I'm so sorry, I never knew. I'm sorry I tried to kill your brother. I'm sorry I fused with Lapis. I'm sorry we're in this mess-' I stopped her and smashed my lips onto her. She seemed taken aback, but soon melted into the kiss. Time literally stopped. We were the only gems alive.
'Don't apologise. Nothing is your fault. Everything happens for a reason right?'
'Yeah, I guess.' I looked down at her wrists and noticed some handcuffs with long chains, which seemed to disappear into the luminous-looking ocean.
'What are those?' I asked hesitantly. She looked down, as if hanging her head in disappointment.
'I'll tell you another time. I just don't really want to talk about it right now,' she said and looked up, 'I...' a frightened, shocked look appeared on her face.
'J- Jasper?'
'Y/n... don't move.' Ignoring her, I flew around faster than ever. Once again, I gasped.
'L- Lazuli?'
'Why, hello there, y/n. How nice of you to join us.'
'Y/n, you need to go now.' Jasper warned me.
'No! Jasper I'm not leaving you. I won't lose you again! You're in the ocean, she's the strong one here, she can control water!'
'I won't watch you die. Get. Out. Of. Here.'
'What if you die?'
'If I die, carry on with your life. Forget about me.'
'Never.'
'You must.'
'Fine. I'll go if you really want. But I will never, ever forget you.'
'I'm going to be sick. I've had enough of both of you!' Lazuli yelled, forcing water towards us both.
'Y/N!'
'JASPER!' She threw me out of the way. Lazuli pinned her down with the water. Tears formed in my eyes seeing her so weak and powerless.
'STOP!' I screamed at Lazuli, 'ARE YOU CRAZY?'
'Hmph. Maybe I am.' She smiled and laughed. Her water wings sprouted and she glided into the air above me.
'Now for you...'
'NO!' Jasper yelled. I began screaming and closes my eyes for impact. When nothing came, I opened my eyes and the last thing I saw was Jasper jumping into the air and knocking Lazuli to the ocean floor.I woke up screaming. Everyone rushed to my side from in the room where their warp pad was while I laid on the sofa. I breathed heavily and began to soon hyperventilate.
'Not again.' Peridot said, running to my side, 'Y/n, y/n, breathe. Y/n? Look at me.' I looked up. 'Breathe.' I did so, slowly.
'Ok. Thank you, Peri.'
'Y/n, what happened?' Pearl asked.
'Yeah! You woke up screaming like you'd seen a ghost!' Amethyst joined in, loud as ever.
'I got a little scared.' Garnet. Scared? Never.
'Are you ok, y/n?' Little Steven mumbled loud enough for us all to hear.
'Yes. Yes! I'm fine everyone. It's just a bad dream is all. No need to worry. No, not at all.' I assured them all, shaking my head and walking away to the kitchen to grab breakfast.
'She seems a little off. I'm worried about her.' Pearl whispered to Garnet.
'I think she has a bit of trauma.' Garnet spoke, and that was the last I heard before the noise of the fridge opening overtook everything.
