Step 5

You yelped as Haru laid the raw fish onto the sizzling pan.

Right, you were at Haru's place again.

Your mom always said, 'a lady who can cook is always at her best'.

Though you loved the idea of cooking, you never really knew how to. Since Haru knew how to cook, you asked him if whether he could teach you a thing or two.

Of course, he agreed.

You stared intently at the grilling fish with Haru by your side, poking it with a spatula every once in a while.

As always, Haru definitely chose a mackerel recipe.

"You have to grill it until both sides are brown and cooked," Haru stated matter-of-factly as you nodded in response.

"I swear, in the future, the only thing I could probably cook is mackerel," You sighed, giggling a bit at your raven-haired friend. "Because of you." You poked his arm.

"Mackerel is great."

"It's the only thing you eat, of course it's great," You chuckled at his response as he continued to poke the fish.

A few minutes later, Haru flipped the fish over, revealing it's underside, cooked to perfection.

Your mouth parted in awe, the sight of the cooked fish satisfying you.

"Hm, it looks nice," You placed both of your hands on the kitchen counter. "Smells nice too."

After the fish was fully grilled, Haru transfered it to a plate. He took out a pair of chopsticks and tore a small piece off the fish, steam coming out of it.

He held the chopsticks in front of you, telling you to open your mouth.

You gladly did so as you moved your head foward to eat that piece of fish.

Unfortunately, Haru being in a teasing mood today, he pulled away and plopped the fish into his own mouth.

"Haru!" You whined as you slapped his arm, a small smile tugging on his lips.

He tore another piece off the fish and did the same thing. You scanned his face for any mischief written on it. As normal, his stoic expression came back.

You sighed as you attempted to eat the fish again. As expected, Haru did the same thing, putting the whole thing in his mouth.

"A big tease today, aren't you?" You turned away jokingly, crossing your arms.

Haru put down the chopsticks as he turned to poke your cheek.

"Why you-" You playfully pounced on him just to tease him back. Haru lost his balance, causing the both of you to end up on the floor.

"Ow..." Haru groaned as soon as he hit the ground.

You giggled at him. "That's what you get with that tease of yours!" You playfully crossed your arms as Haru propped himself up with his arms.

It was seconds until you realised that you were straddling his waist.

Your eyes shot open, heat creeping up your cheeks. Haru noticed too since he was looking away, attempting to hide his blush.

"Uh...s-sorry," You tried to get up, but you gave a little yelp as someone came through the door frame of the kitchen.

"Haru-EH?! Am I interupting anything?!" A very shocked Makoto appeared at the doorway of the kitchen as you hasitly scrambled off Haru.

"N-No! I just accidentally fell onto him, that's all!" You explained, Haru nodding in response.

"Right...then I'll just leave you two then," Makoto said as he left with a wink, leaving you and Haru speechless.

"Makoto!" You and Haru exclaimed at the same time, Makoto chuckling as he made his way out.

Though you were slightly embarassed, you'd be lying if you said you didn't enjoy Haru teasing you in his own ways.
