Step 6

You yawned, tears springing to your eyes as you strolled down the path.

You were at the park with the boys and Rin, since one of them suggested to see the blooming cherry blossoms that filled the park every spring.

It was the evening and boy, you were tired.

"Uwaa~! The cherry blossoms look so nice today!" Nagisa said, running up to one of the trees. "I haven't been to this park in so long!"

"But Nagisa-kun, there are cherry blossoms around our school pool, remember?" Rei deadpanned, tilting his head up to look at the pink flowers.

"Hm, that's right..." Makoto chuckled.

"Ehh? But the scenery here makes it more beautiful!" Nagisa protested, pouting slightly.

"The cherry blossoms at school are more beautiful," Haru spoke up as Nagisa raised a brow at him. "Because of the pool."

"For god's sake, Haru..." Rin slapped a hand to his forehead.

Nagisa pouted even more as you giggled at your friends, mainly Haru because he was being his usual water-loving self that you always loved.

You yawned again, grabbing Makoto's attention.

"Guess [Name]'s tired again," Makoto chuckled as he ruffled your hair.

"And hungry," you added yourself.

"Oh, there's a crepe stall there. Who wants a crepe?" Makoto offered, Nagisa, Rei, Rin and yourself agreed.

"Is there a mackerel flavoured crepe?" Haru turned to Makoto. He might have his stoic expression, but you could see the glint in his eyes.

Makoto smiled at his raven-haired friend. "If there is, I'll get it for you."

Haru simply nodded and went back to his own business.

Makoto walked off towards the crepe stall, Nagisa and Rei following him to pick out their flavours.

Rin hung around you and Haru, glancing at the setting sun.

Haru's head suddenly snapped towards a certain direction. You were curious as you followed his glance as well.

As expected, he was staring at a fountain.

"Haru? Don't you dare-" You were cut off by his clothes flying in your face.

"HARU NO" Haru sprinted towards the fountain. You flinged his clothes towards a very shocked Rin as you tried to grab his arm.

Your hand slipped, causing you to wrap your arms around his torso instead, putting you in a weird hugging position. Haru struggled to get out of your grip.

"RIN! Could you at least help me and not stand there?!" You shouted towards the burgundy haired boy.

A smirk formed on his face. "Hm, I don't know. Seems far from here."

"RIN--HARU STOP" You grabbed on tighter as you could feel your hands slipping. "People are watching!"

He finally stopped struggling.

"It worked?"

You loosened your grip as you stared up at him. He stared back.

Though, he did have a mischievious glint in his eyes.

Before you could protest, Haru lifted you up and slung you behind his shoulder.

In wide shock, you pounded your fists on his bare back. "HARU! Put me down!"

He walked towards the fountain, your eyes widening. "This is your fault, Rin! For not helping me!"

Rin just chucked in the distance as he watched the scene.

Haru finally set you down. Unfortunately, in the fountain, drenching your clothes.

You sulked as you crossed your arms, Haru floating around beside you. "You are so getting this back."

In the distance, you could see the three of them walking back with crepes.

All of them were shocked, as expected.

"[Name]?! You wanted to swim too?"

"No! This idiot threw me in," You glared at Haru as you tried to get out of the fountain.

"She didn't want to let me go so I pulled her in with me," Haru said emotionlessly as Makoto tried to drag him out.

"You are so getting-" You were cut off by a small sneeze. You sniffed as you felt a gust of cold wind blow through your wet hair.

You shivered as you felt Makoto put Haru's coat on you. "This should keep you warm for now."

"T-Thanks," You thanked him, followed by another sneeze as the group laughed altogether.

Haru just plainly glanced at you. You were damp, your face red from the cold. Even better, you were wearing his coat. What a sight.

He kept in mind as to make sure to keep you close even if he wants to swim.
