Chapter Five

Wendy's POV

When Peter left to go take care of whatever business he had, I asked Daniel, one of the lost boys, to teach me how to shoot a bow and arrow. He agreed, and I spent the rest of the afternoon learning. By dinner time, I'd mastered it, and I even had a pretty good aim. I was exhausted from the day, so I escaped to Peter's cabin.

I flopped on his bed and thought about what he said, how the shadow said I would destroy him. I couldn't figure it out, so I pushed it out of my mind and thought about my family instead.

I was still thinking about them when Peter walked inside. I leapt off the bed as he walked towards me.

"Is there some way I can talk to my brothers and my father, because..." I trailed off when Peter walked past me, his arms snaking around my waist. I could feel his hot breath as he whispered in my ear.

"Forget them, Wendy. Forget them all."

I twisted around in his arms, putting my hands against his chest. I did forget them, just for a minute when I looked up at him. There was a hard, blazing look in his green eyes. He pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his hands on either side of me. My breath caught, and Peter leaned down as I stretched up. When we kissed, it felt like blinding fireworks in my head, and I could tell he felt the same way when he moved one hand to my back and the other in my hair, pulling me closer.

Peter's POV

Kissing her was like nothing else, better than flying, she was the only real thing in the world, Wendy, the feel of her, with one hand on her back and the other in her long, sweet smelling hair.

Wendy's POV

I couldn't think, I couldn't feel anything except the fireworks, Peter's soft lips, my hands curled around his shirt collar, and all I wanted was more, more.

Peter's POV

Somehow, this kiss seemed better than our first one, full of the unspoken things between us, and I loved every minute of it.

Wendy's POV

I felt his lips leave mine, lingering just for a moment, and I opened my eyes to see him grinning at me, that sexy, devilish grin I was starting to like quite a bit.

Peter's POV

I pulled back, lingering for just a moment, and we opened our eyes at the same time. I couldn't help grinning, because she took my breath away, and I was really beginning to hope that she didn't have the heart of the truest believer. She let out a small giggle, and smiled right back at me.

"You're impossible." I said softly, tracing her jaw line with my hand.

Wendy's smile grew even wider.

"Not impossible. Just a little unlikely."

I rolled my eyes at her, shoved her back against the wall, and resumed our previous activities.
