Chapter Six
Wendy's POV

The next morning, I woke up in my own tent. I got up to explore, and found that Peter left me a note in the table.

Wendy,

I've got some business to take care of. Find Felix, it's training day. He'll show you what to do.

Cheers,
Peter

I wondered what training day was, but I figured I'd find out soon enough.

I opened the closet door in my bedroom to find a dresser, and shelves filled with clothes, but they weren't mine. I opened a drawer on the dresser that was inside. It was full of socks. I opened the next one. There was a pile of questionable scraps of lace inside. I slammed it shut, and turned to the shelves.
A pretty dark purple dress caught my eye. It was simple, with short sleeves, a scoop neck, and it would probably come down to just below my knees. I put it on, and started searching for a pair of shoes. I couldn't find any, so I just went barefoot, thinking I could ask someone for a pair of boots.

I opened the door of the tent and peered outside, looking for Felix. He was standing right outside my tent with a plate of food. I smiled.

"Thanks!" I said gratefully.

"No problem," he said, "and, er, where are your shoes?"

I laughed. "I couldn't find them. Do you happen to have any?"

Felix looked at me. "Just imagine them."

I closed my eyes and concentrated. When I opened them, my feet were inside a pair of brown boots, the soft, supple leather molded perfectly to my feet. It took some getting used to, this whole magic thing.

I scarfed down my breakfast and we headed to the training. It wasn't too long of a hike, but I asked Felix questions all the way there.

"Felix, what's training day?"

"A day where you train."

"Train with what?"

"Stuff."

"What sort of stuff?"

"Just stuff."

"Yeah, but what?"

"You'll see."

"When will I see?"

"When we get there."

"When will we get there?"

"Soon."

"How many more minutes?"

"I don't know, Wendy."

"Do you have an estimate?"

"We'll get there when we get there."

He wasn't very talkative, Felix.

When we finally did get there, we walked into a clearing in the forest full of lost boys practicing various forms of fighting. There was an archery station, a sword fighting station, and a hand to hand combat station. I turned to Felix.

"Peter wants me to learn to fight?" I asked, a little worried. "Why?"

"Just in case." Felix answered cryptically.

"Right." I nodded. "Where do I start?"

"We'll go around in a circle, starting with archery."

We headed towards the archery station, and the lost boys there stopped what they were doing.
