16 months after the events of Frozen:

Hans' POV

I ran. I ran as fast as I could when I heard screaming. I was upset because I recognized the voice and I couldn't let her hurt.

I came to the castle ballroom. Decorations in all shapes and sizes hung from the ceiling, embellished the walls, showing that there had been a party of some kind. With the darkness and the lack of crowd it all, nevertheless, seemed a bit out of the place, maybe even sinister. But what really made the atmosphere eery were the quiet sobs I could hear echoing from the thick stone walls. Right after stepping in I saw her. She was lying down on the floor in a pool of her own blood. I let out a loud gasp and rushed toward her.

"What happened?" I almost yelled putting her head carefully on my lap and my hand on her cheek.

She breathed heavily, "Hans, it was..." her eyes fluttered closed and I realized she started to lose her consciousness.

I tapped her cheek lightly and she opened her beautiful hazel eyes again, "It doesn't matter. Just stay with me", I said as I heard steps behind me.

Glancing at the arrival I immediately recognized her. It was Anna.

"We need Elsa", I said to her, "Now!" Anna stopped at her tracks not making a move. I couldn't let crucial seconds slide through my fingers: "Anna please." My heart ached as I glanced at her motionless body. I couldn't leave her.

Anna blinked couple of times, "Why don't you go? I should stay with her knowing what you're capable of", she spoke coldly.

I turned my look back at her. She seemed weak. She tried to grab my hand and I laced our fingers. "Hans, don't leave me", she whispered to me.

"Anna, I can't", I said shaking my head. "Can't you see I love her?" I shouted. Anna stared at me in shock. "Are you happy now?" I added. Soon enough she turned on her heels and started to run off of the room.

I sighed in relief and concentrated back at the woman in my arms. She was smiling at me. Not a big smile but I knew she was smiling. I smiled back.

"You're gonna make this... I'm here, you have nothing to scare for... I'm here now", I tried to calm her.

She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. I rubbed her cheek with my thumb, "Just keep looking into my eyes. Elsa is coming."

"Hans..." she breathed out, "Was... it... true?"

"Was what true?" I asked softly holding her gaze.

"Do... you... love me?" she gasped and I felt her pulse going down.

'No. No no no no. She can't leave me now', I thought. I kissed her forehead and whispered to her ear, "I have always loved you, my warrior."

She smiled a little wider than before, "Kiss me."

"What?" I asked but when her eyes fluttered close again I pressed my lips gently against hers. The kiss held more emotion than anything I had experienced before. It was full of desperate love yet longing. I would have never quessed a feeling like that was possible for me to go through. After a while I pulled back and saw a smile still playing on her lips. She opened her eyes again looking directly into mine.

"I... love you... too", she panted. Her breathing had become even more uneaven. I just kept drawing circles on her cheek. I was covered with blood, her blood, but I didn't care. I thought how Elsa would come in time and would be able to help. But where was she when we needed her?

I sighed in relief when the doors suddenly opened behind us. It was Elsa... finally here. "Elsa, please help her!" I begged.

She came closer to us and shook her head seeing her state. "We got the man who did this... Hans", she locked eyes with me, "It was your brother", she almost whispered and I felt the tears falling down my cheeks.

"It can't be..." I sobbed, "It just can't." There was no force left to hold back tears anymore.

Elsa sighed turning her head away, "And when it comes to her... it's too late. I'm so sorry but I can't help you."

"There have to be something! I can't live without her!" I shouted glaring at Elsa. She looked at me shocked of my reaction. "Congratulations, this is all part of your sick plan, right? Now you've got what you wanted... I love her! And now I know what it feels like to lose..." my voice cracked. It felt like the world I'd learned to love again was crubling right in front of me. And I felt powerless against it.

Elsa kept looking at me and I think, at that moment, I could see the pity in her glance, "I'm so sorry." She left the room quietly.

I felt a grab in my hand. She was still alive! She looked so beautiful yet so weak. For the bitter moment I felt she looked the prettiest ever while dying. "Please, don't leave me, I love you too much", I whispered to the dark as her grip on my hand loosened.
