Lucas Sinclair, one of her best friends, was mad at her for intruding on their little group. But, when she came back he was relieved yet flooded with guilt after how he treated her in 1983.

31st - 1st November 1984
Lucas had felt the guilt of how he treated her (as well as thinking she was dead...) and was overcome with relief seeing her back in Mike's arms - snoozing away.
Lucas saw the way Mike looked at El (before she disappeared from nearly a year) and now, seeing his best friend gently cradling the small girl in his arms, Mike's feelings for her have blossomed while she was away.
When her eyes opened, they revealed the brown eyes to match the curly brown hair. Lucas gave her a hug and apologised some more for how he treated her.
And watched as the two teens share their 'first' kiss.

10th May 1985
Rio by Duran Duran was playing on Lucas's old stereo, making El tap her foot happily to the iconic tune.
The two were sat in Lucas's backyard with Mike, Dustin, Will and Max staring at the twinkling starlight.
Lucas looked to El, who was laying next to him, who had his best friend's - Mike - arm around her shoulder and she was happily and contently snuggled into his side.
He knew that since the moment they met El in Mirkwood, that El would be the one for Mike.
One day El was going to be Mike's girl.
