Chapter ten

A few weeks later

"How did this happen?" Stardust asked Christina as lots of kids came over to her.

"Christina, is it true?"

"Are dragons real?"

"Do you have a pet dragon!?"

"According to Sam and Chase, a video was leaked of you and I. Gosh, this is getting annoying, and we've only been known for a week!" Christina cried. "Uh, I don't know what your talking about. What do you mean?"

"Don't bother, everybody in Peterborough knows you got yourself a dragon" a boy claimed.

"Where's Brad when I need him?" Christina asked, glancing for an escape route.

"Do you want help? I'm not afraid to show myself" Stardust offered.

"Please Christina, let us see your dragon" some kids cried. Christina sighed and made a decision.

"Alright. Alright. You can meet him" she stated. "Come on Stardust"

"On it~!" He exclaimed and the whole school yard turned their heads towards the sky as Stardust flew overhead.

"WOW!!!"

"IT'S A REAL DRAGON!!!!"

"AAAAAHHHHH MONSTER!!!!"

Stardust flew around a bit before landing. Christina ran to him and he nuzzled her. Christina let out a soft laugh and kids ran over.

"C-can I feel its scales?" A boy asked Christina hopefully.

"I'm fine with it" Stardust stated.

"Alright everybody. This is Stardust, he's my dragon! And he said he's ok if you feel his scales" Christina stated. Lots of kids did and stardust laid down, allowing kids to pet him. He purred at the attention and some kids climbed on him. "Well aren't you the popular boy~?"

"Shush little one" Stardust whispered through the bond.

"I am older you realize?"

"And I'm bigger, your point?"

"Stardust, are you kidding me?"

Christina sighed and Stardust chuckled softly. She walked over and sat down, leaning against the side of his head. He bumped his nose against her back gently before she put an arm around his head which he rested in her lap.

"So you decided it's time for people to know?" Nicky asked as she and Mr. Demi came out of the school.

"A video got posted of us. No idea who took it, but yeah. The secret was out anyways" Christina yawned.

"Good to know. And nice job entertaining half of the students, Stardust" Mr. Demi chuckled, patting the dragons head. Stardust only nodded, and Christina smiled.

"We may be here awhile" she stated.

"Get that thing out of here, now!" A man ordered as he came outside. Stardust looked at the man, but Christina stood.

"What's the problem here, Mr. J?" Nicky asked.

"This monster should not be allowed anywhere near children! It could easily harm a child and look at it! It's hideous! It needs to go, now!" Mr. J snapped. Stardust froze feeling fury boiling from the other half of his bond, but Christina walked in front of Stardust.

"Listen you bastard, stardust is my dragon and you have no right to be so cruel to him. He never did anything to you, and he's never hurt a human. He's the best guy ever, and he doesn't have to leave. But you sure do, cause nobody here enjoys your negativity! So beat it, nobody wants a hater!" Christina snapped. Stardust chuckled softly, other students shouting agreements.

"LET STARDUST STAY!!!!"

"BEAT IT MR. J!!!!"

"NO MORE HATERS"

"STARDUST IS AWESOME!!!!"

Christina smiled, and Mr. J growled. Mr. Demi went inside and Mr. J glared down at Christina. Christina crossed her arms, Unafraid. Stardust watched very closely.

"How dare you talk to me that way!? This thing-!" Christina cut Mr. J off.

"This thing is the bravest, most kind creature ever. If you so much as insult him again, you'll regret it" Christina growled.

"Is that a threat, Landers?" Mr. J growled.

"No. It's a promise. You see, insulting Stardust is insulting me. Stardust and I have a telepathic bond, we're one in the same. Bullying him like your doing now is technically bullying me, and you can get arrested for that" Christina explained, smirking. Mr. J had a furious look. "Leave. Us. Alone"

"Christina's right" the two looked as Mr. Demi came out with another man.

"Mr. Z!" Christina exclaimed.

"The principal? Oh geez" Stardust said, bumping his nose against Christina back. She smiled and pet him, so he laid his head down. She relaxed him and Mr. Z looked between Mr. J and Christina.

"Mr. J. Christina is correct, Stardust is allowed to be here. Your negativity will be recorded. Please leave the children alone" Mr. Z said. Mr. J stormed off furiously and Mr. Z walked to Christina who smiled at him.

"Thank you sir" she said politely.

"May I?" He asked and Christina nodded. Mr. Z pet stardust's head and stardust purred. "Amazing...... I knew I saw a real dragon as a boy, but nobody ever believed me"

"Well, you got proof now" Mr. Demi chuckled. "I've been studying Stardust since he hatched. It's simply amazing"

"Extremely" Mr. Z said before sighing. "As much as I hate to do this, you'll have to leave for the day Stardust. The kids need to go to class, but your welcomed to come back at lunch tomorrow"

"It'd be a pleasure" Stardust said, allowing the children to get off his back.

"He said it'd be a pleasure. He'll be here" Christina said. Stardust nuzzled her. "See you after school Dusty~!"

"You too, little one. Until then" Stardust said, launching into the air. He flew off and Christina grinned.

Then continued with her day.
