The classroom was lively with the students packing up their things. It was finally Friday, and it was nearly the end of the school day.
"I need two people to pass these out," Ms. Monkoski said as she waved two stacks of half sheets of paper.
"I will!" Iriah exclaimed instantly, while the teacher picked another student.
Sasha eyed the two papers on her desk, which turned out to be flyers for upcoming events. One of them was for "An Ideal Me" day next week Wednesday, which was for the students to dress up like what their career would be. The other one was for the pancake sale, happening next week Saturday at the community center.
When all of the students left the classroom, The 5 Spirits headed towards the Wololololo.
"Guys," Shortstacks told his friends. "I need help with preparing for the pancake sale."
"We can help," Alex smiled, and everyone else nodded.
"Not today if it means coming to your house," Sasha said. "But if you can ask my mother I can help you next week."
"I can't today anyway," Shortstacks grinned. "I'm spending time here with you guys!"
"So what do we need to do?" Ryan asked.
"Well," Cameron began, "Mrs. Reed said that she'll let me decide everything for the pancake sale. So, we need to make the pancakes, obviously, but also other things, like setting up the stand."
"And making posters!" Alex suggested.
"And maybe we could sell a few things other than pancakes," Karisa joined in.
Sasha took out a piece of folder paper and a pencil, and handed them to Karisa, who got straight to work writing down all of the stuff everyone was suggesting.
The 5 Spirits planned and discussed how the pancake sale was going to go and what they needed to prepare. They all had very good ideas and a lot was done. In fact, they got so much done, that they put together a shopping list, decided the exact dates that they were going to go to Cameron's house, and had a very good estimate on how much pancake stacks they will need to make.
The afternoon had gone by very quickly. A red Sentra pulled up, and The 5 Spirits headed towards it.
"Hi," Shortstacks greeted. "We were wondering if Sasha could come to my house for a few days to prepare for the pancake sale." Sasha showed her mom the flyer.
"We're busy over the weekend," the mother told her daughter.
"I told them," Sasha replied. "Is after school all of next week alright?"
"When can I come pick you up?"
"3:30, just like you usually do. And you can pick me up at the splash park."
Sasha's mom nodded. "OK, you can go."
"Yay!" her friends exclaimed.
"I'll see you next week," Sasha said, getting in the car. "Bye!"
