Chapter 11

Leah Cranston

I open my eyes and blink.

"Ugh." I groan as I attempt to look around.

"Oh my god Lee! Are you okay? Thank god you're okay!" Chloe says and I just blink. "Can you hear me?" I nod slowly. "You have a rest. I'll get the others." I lift an arm up. "Don't move."

"What..... happened?" I say slowly.

"You got hit by a car. You've been in a coma for days. Luckily your body hasn't been too injured. But you did fracture a few bones but they have been getting better. And.... your parents are here." Chloe says fast. "I have to get them." Soon Chloe gets all of them in and they rush forward.

"Leah, sweetie. Are you alright?" My Mum asks, taking ahold of my hand.

"I knew we shouldn't have sent her here." My dad says.

"I'm sorry Mr Cranston. This is all my fault." I hear Maddox's voice.

"Yes it is, it-"

"Honey." My Mum says sternly. "Don't worry Maddox dear, it was an accident." Mum looks at me. "He was worried sick about you." Mum says quietly and I make eye contact with Maddox. I give him a weak smile.

"I knew I should've went to get you." Austin says and Maddox shakes his head.

"This really is my fault. I'm so sorry Leah." Maddox says.

"It's.... Okay." I say.

"You don't look very okay." Austin says.

"I'm fine." I say.

"Leah. You're coming back home." My dad says sternly.

"No, dad, look. I'm fine now!"

"What about your arm?"

"It's just a cast. I'll be fine. The doctor said I could take it off in less than a week!"

"Leah....." Chloe starts but I stop her.

"You guys. Could you excuse us for a second?" I ask, and the others nod, and walk away. "Mum, dad. I know I'm an only child and you care for me. But I'm fine. It'll be fine."

"Leah, sweetie, we can't let you do this if you're going to be so careless."

"I promise to not let this happen again." I plead. My first day out of hospital since forever and I'm already under a risk. They can't let me go back. They honestly have no idea how long I've been waiting for this. They can't take me away from it now.

"Honey....." my mum looks at dad. My dad is the more protective one. My mum wants to let me slightly lose sometimes but my dad seems to think I'm five. This incident was not such a good idea to show him that I've 'grown up.'

"You can't promise for anything to not happen." My dad says.

"I'll be more careful. I can promise you that." I say.

"Maddox was supposed to take care of you, not get you killed." My dad mutters.

"It's not his fault!" I say, so loud the others look over. "And look, I'm not dead."

"Almost." Dad says. And I give him a look. He seriously can't blame Maddox for this. "Fine." Dad says with a sigh. "If something like this happens one more time, you're coming home. Understand?"

"Thank you thank you thank you!" I say, and give him a hug. "Okay you guys can go home now." I say, pushing them away.

"You have to call me everyday."
