hey:) I'm thanking my best friend Sophie for the idea of this book, please vote comment, and follow:) thanks
I can't help but watch out the window of my art class, the girls soccer team practices right in my view. But I'm not interested in every single girl out there, like most people would think. I'm interested in the star forward, she's stunning and an amazing athlete. I go to all the high school games just to watch her play. Her names Kendall, and I seriously wish she was mine.
She has golden brown hair, that reminds me of honey. And her skin tone matches, her eyes are chocolate brown reminding me of a Hershey's bar.
She's beautiful, about every high school guy has dreamed of going out with her. But none seem to be good enough, that means I have no chance whatsoever. Because she hates me, she would never give me a time of day ever since the first day of tenth grade, when I made out with her best friend Ryan then left without ever giving a single phone call.
I felt bad, I really did. But the guys made me do it, they said it was how they accepted sophomores into the team. Now, in my senior year, I'm labeled the school bad boy. I have a bad reputation for girls, and I'm pretty sure that's what made Kendall hate me.
But this year, the path was going to change course. I was going to make Kendall like me, I had to.
" Mr. Smith!"
I jump, looking up from my blank canvas. Damn. I had just wasted a whole class period, " yes, Mr. Jonson?" I duck my head, trying to hide my embarrassment from the whole class, I could hear from somewhere behind me Liam snickering. I wanted to turn and throw my pencil at him.
" You haven't done anything today. You are not one for slacking, what's gotten into you boy?" Mr. Jonson's disappointed tone makes me cringe. I hated being yelled at.
" I'm sorry Mr. Johnson, I just.. umm have been distracted today."
Mr. Jonson narrows his eyes at me through his glasses, he sighs and looks at my blank canvas. " Well Lincoln, I'm going to excuse you this time. But after this, there will be no more unfinished work in my class you hear?"
I nod vigorously, then jump out of my seat as the bell rings. I grab my back pack, and walk quickly out of the room. Just before turning the corner I glance back, and catch Mr. Jonson staring after me with a confused look upon his face.
" Hey man! what the heck was that all about?'
I jump and look at my best friend Liam, who is jabbing his thumb back towards the art room. I shrug, and keep my gaze forward.
" It's not that one girl.. what's her name again, Kaitlynn?"
I growl in frustration, Liam could never get any girls name right. " Kendall" I mumble, as we turn down the hall towards the boys locker rooms.
As I walk down the hall way, I pass a group of girls. their conversation becomes whispers as I pass, they they all brake out into a fit of laughs and giggles. I could never get a break.
I shove open the gym doors, and walk through with Liam trailing behind me. " Dude, you really have to let her go! Just face it, no one is ever going to be good enough for her"
I stop mid-step and turn around to face my best friend. He shrinks back, and hold up his hands defensively. " Sorry man just telling it how it is."
I clench my fists by my side, I'll show him. " Well, I'm going to be good enough. just watch" with that, I whirl and trudge into the locker room.
.**.
I shove my left cleat on, and head outside where the rest of the team is warming up. I watch as the girls cool down, instantly I spot Kendall who is right next to her best friend. Ryan looks my way, we meet eye contact, and we both instantly look away. talk about awkward.
" Yo! Smith heads up!" yells the high school keeper Kamron.
I look at him, but it's too late. A soccer ball hits me straight in the nose, I fall to the ground groaning.
In the distance I can hear the girls team laughing, and muttering about how much of a player I am. I growl in frustration, and make my way to my knees still holding my nose.
" That's gonna bruise" I say, as I stumble to my feet.
" Well I warned ya!" laughs Kamron, he slaps me on my back. and walks away still laughing.
I glance at Kendall who is laughing, she looks at me. Then leans over to Ryan, and whispers something into her ear. they both burst into laughter, what did they think was so funny?
The rest of practice I'm a mess, my mind has seemed to be else where.
