A few moments later, Sherlock and his two friends had finally arrived at the Tower where Moriarty had just been shoved into a police car. They were now watching the recorded security footage that had been taken from behind as Jim as he stuck the gum onto the glass.
''That glass is tougher than anything...'' Detective Lestrade stated as he folded his arms across his chest.
''Not tougher than crystallized carbon.'' Juliet smiled slightly, ''He used a diamond.''
Lestrade adjusted the security footage, which shifted to a recording taken from the other side of the glass. The footage also went back in reverse, showing the glass rising back up into place before being shattered. As Jim pulled the fire extinguisher back again and the glass became whole, the message that he had written onto the glass now became clear.
He had deliberately written the words backwards on the glass so that the message would be seen from the camera on the other side of the glass. The one message with the smiley face drawn inside the 'O'. As everyone looked closely at the computer screen to see what Moriarty had written on the glass, the message read:
'GET SHERLOCK'
-A few days later, 221B-
The newspapers had somehow obtained the security image with the message clear on the glass and were now running it on their front page with headlines such as 'Crime of the Century?'. The rest of the texts read 'Questions are being asked in parliament as to how the Tower of London, Pentonville Prison and the Bank of England were all broken into at the same time by the same man -- James Moriarty.' It continued on with 'There are unconfirmed reports that Scotland Yard's favourite sleuth Mr Sherlock Holmes has been called in to help the team piece together the most audacious crime...''.
Some indeterminate time later, a new front page headline read: 'Jewel Thief on trial at Bailey' and the first few paragraphs read 'Crown Jewel thief is to be tried at the Old Baily and Sherlock Holmes is named as a witness for the prosecution'', followed by 'Master criminal Moriarty taunted Holmes with his graffitied GET SHERLOCK at the scene of the crime''.
At 221B, Juliet John and Sherlock were getting ready to go to court. Both the doctor and the woman were standing in front of the mirror in the living room, fixing their clothes and hair. John was wearing a suit and was finishing tying his tie before putting his jacket on, as for Juliet, she was wearing a casual black dress and her hair was tied up into a perfect bun with huge black sunglasses. Near the sofa, Sherlock was buttoning up his own jacket.
Sherlock led the way down the stairs and went to the front door, suddenly, he stopped in front of it and turned to the side. John Watson reached out his hand towards the door.
''Ready?'' John said with a small smirk.
''Yes.'' Sherlock responded.
Bracing himself, John opened the door. Outside, police officers were trying to hold back the large crowd of journalist who immediately started photographing the three people that had stepped out. The journalists called out questions and blinded them with flashing lights as the police cleared the way and allowed them through to the waiting police car.
As the car sprinted away from all the journalists and police officers, it was now just going around Trafalgar Square. In the car, John seemed sat uncomfortably in his seat; his arms were going numb and his face turned into a grimace. Sherlock sat quietly and looked out the window as if he had been ready for this his entire life. As for Juliet, she was quietly sitting between the two man, her legs crossed, eyes hidden by her sunglasses and a huge devilish smirk on her lips.
''Remember...'' John finally said as if he had been itching to say something for a long time, ''Remember...''
''Yes, yes.'' Sherlock replied quickly.
