15 minutes later I hear another knock, I open the door and say, "Chuck leave me the-" but I stop when I see Jughead.
" Whoa, What?" He steps inside looking confused.
" Chuck, he came here asking me out again and didn't like the answer so he like threatened me," I shake my head and head upstairs with Jug following.
" Autumn that's not something to take lightly right now," He sits on my bed.
"He won't do anything, He doesn't want to get kicked off his team," I take a seat beside him.
" Why don't you take a nap," We both lay back staring at the ceiling.
" I can't Jug."
"Hey I'm here if anything happens," I lay my head on his chest.
" Thank you for being here for me all the time."
" I'll always be here Autumn, just get some rest." I close my eyes and feel safe with Jughead beside me. I start to think about what Betty said before. she thinks I like Jughead? I can't like him he's my best friend. Right?
///
" Hey Jug, I didn't know you were here," I hear my dad's voice.
" Yeah, I'm sorry sir. She hasn't been getting much rest and I thought it would help if I stayed with her." I feel Jug move a little.
"It's alright son. I hear her up in the middle of the night. Do you know why?"
"Since Jason died she's been a little freaked out. She keeps having nightmares, so she won't sleep." I feel his hand rub my head.
"Where have you been staying Jug?" My dad asks concerned. My dad has always been there for Jugs since his father started drinking.
" Well, I've been staying at the Drive-in but it's being knocked down." I frown at the thought of Jughead on the streets.
"Why don't you stay here, you can sleep in the guest room." My dad offers.
"I couldn't sir, I don't want to intrude." I can picture Jughead shaking his head.
" I insist, plus with her like this, I think it would be good for you to be around. You make her happy Jug and that's something I haven't seen since our family was together." My heart falls.
"Just think about it please," I hear my dad leave my room.
"Please stay," I open my eyes and look at Jughead.
" How long have you been up?" He smiles at me.
"Long enough to know that you're staying with us," I sit up and give a playful smile.
"Autumn I don't want to be a bother."
"Jughead Jones, You will never be a bother in this house."
"Fine, but I'm not staying long," He sits up too.
"Yeah yeah," I laugh.
"Did you have a nightmare?" He faces me.
"Nope, I think you being here helps," I smile at the boy in front of me.
"Always Autumn," We both lay back down and fall asleep.
///
I wake up to an alarm going off at 7 o'clock. I turn over and see Jughead fast asleep. I poke his face trying to wake him up. He rolls over and pulls me into him, wrapping an arm around my waist.
"Juggie we have to get up," I laugh.
" 5 more minutes mom."
"Oh shush," I pull on his arm, getting him to a sitting position.
" Can I use your shower?" He pulls off his beanie.
"Of course," He gets up and walks to the bathroom letting me get ready for school. I put of a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, a striped crop top and a flannel that was thrown around my room. I walk to my desk and apply my makeup when Jughead walks in with a towel around his waist.
" I don't know why you wear makeup," He goes to a drawer I have for him in my room with his clothes. He has stayed here a few times, and he decided to leave clothes just in case. He takes out his clothes and goes back to the bathroom to change. I straighten my hair and steal Jugs beanie placing it on my head.
He comes back fully clothed with wet hair. "Hey my hat," He grabs it off my head. I stick my tongue out at him and he starts tickling me
" Jug. ugh. Please stop," I laugh. He stops and looks at my outfit.
" Nice flannel but imma need that back soon." He points.
"This is yours?" I laugh. I grab my books and start walking downstairs. We both walk beside each other and separate when we get to school.
