"Um- hello?" A voice brought me back from my fantasy land. I gulped as I realize I had been staring weirdly at the mysterious boy. "Sorry, um- what?" I asked dumbly. Why must I be so awkward? I mentally slapped myself.
"Do you know why I gave you this? Oh and do you even know who he is?" The boy asked, glancing at Alec behind him. "No.. And yes, in fact, I do know Alec. I don't know who you are though." I eyed him suspiciously. "Well, you will." He said and walked to Alec. They both walked farther away from me so I couldn't hear them, leaving me all by myself.
They were shout-whispering to each other while looking at me occasionally. They started arguing and their voices were getting louder. When they both took a step towards each other and pushed each other's shoulders, that's when I drew the line. I quickly jogged there and stood between them. "Whoa whoa whoa, quit it both of you! What's the matter?" I hissed and thankfully they both took a step backwards. "He wants to spend a night with you like I do, he's jealous." Alec scoffed. "Shut your mouth! I deserve it, you don't!" The other boy grimaced. "Jeez I don't even know you." I chuckled while rolling my eyes, although deep down I wanted to. "That's why you should spend a night with me. I'll tell you everything you want to know. Your sickness, the ring, anything. Unlike this guy who keeps you in the dark." He smirked. "Hey! I was protecting her!" And just like that, they started arguing again.
"Stop it!" I shouted, running out of breath from trying to separate these two. "You guys can take turns. I'll spend tonight with.. you, whoever you are. And the next day with Alec. Now, how does that sound?" I smiled, looking at the both of them. "Good to me." The boy smiled back. "Fine, whatever." Alec groaned.
The three of us stood there awkwardly, silence filling the air, creating tension. I looked at Alec, who wasn't getting the clue. "Ugh, so you're gonna shoo me away now?" Alec rolled his eyes, receiving a chuckle from me. "Finee okay, I'll see you tomorrow." I hugged him and a smile finally formed on his face before he walked away. "Remember what I said, Stranberg! Lay one finger on her and I'll burn your head off!" Alec shouted from the distance, leaving me with the mysterious boy. "Wow, someone's being overprotective today." The boy laughed with manner.
"You're not gonna kidnap me or kill me in the woods, are you?" I said out of nowhere. He just laughed with manners and pulled my hand. "Where are we going?" I asked slowly. "You'll see." He calmly said.
______________We walked in the middle of the night to the unknown destination for what felt like hours without a single word spoken, well at least not coming from him. I had been whining and asking my unanswered questions non-stop. My feet were becoming wobbly as I gasped for air like a fish out of water. "S-stop, please." I stopped and propped my hands on my knees. "I can't take this anymore. I give up!" I flared my hands up as if in surrender while he chuckled quietly. "Oh so you're laughing at me now?" I shook my head.
"Do I have to change myself to a cheetah so you can ride me instead?" He turned to me and asked a strange question out of nowhere with a serious expression on his face. "W-what? You can do that?" I was taken aback, yet somehow I believed him; I saw him changed from a bird to a human with my own two eyes after all.
"Nah, I wouldn't waste my energy for the sake of your noodle legs. We're almost there anyways." He scoffed and continued walking. "Wow. You're very well mannered." I made sure to emphasize the sarcasm in my voice while rolling my eyes. Just twenty minutes ago I thought he was a sweet young man, with that charming smile of his. Crazy how a single smile can deceive you. "Oh trust me, you don't know the first thing about me yet." He suddenly said. Wait, did I say that out loud? He chuckled as he looked at the expression plastered on my face. "Yes, noodle legs, you said that out loud." He said it as if he could read my mind.
