After Rose and Jeremy slept for a few hours, they decided to go looking for the twins, Kane, Sandra, and Jacob. Rose, looking back on the night before, was very surprised that Jeremy had taken so much care about her wound.

"How did you know what to do when I was hit by that poisoned arrow?"

"It wasn't really all that bad, you only were poisoned enough to knock you unconscious. I only know this because it was the same poison that killed my parents. While it was injected into their system hours before they died, your injection only lasted a few minutes. I only acted quickly in that situation because you needed some help." He said all of this in a nonchalant way while he was cutting through the forest.

"Oh, so you're saying that if I was not unconscious that I could not take care of myself?"

"No, I am saying that since you weren't able to take care of yourself that I had to step in to save your life."

"Well, I guess that means I owe you."

"What?" Jeremy whipped his head around to stare Rose straight in the face.

"I owe you, you saved my life so I have to save yours."

"Hm."

Jeremy continued walking with not even the slightest thank you that Rose cared about his life. She could but help feel a little dumb for mentioning those words at this time and place. He obviously didn't care about her, why was she so determined to give a good impression? He had already said that he didn't care about her in that way. As Rose pushed her way through the jungle that grabbed every part of her, she began to realize that she was falling for Jeremy. Hard.

"How long do you think it will take us to reach the others?" Rose asked trying to strike up some conversation.

"As far as I know we all could just be going in one big circle." Jeremy replied without anymore to say.

Rose sighed as she pushed a branch that was in danger of getting tangled in her hair. Jeremy looked up at the sky, trying to get his bearings about which way was north, when his foot slipped off the edge of a cliff. Before he could slide any further, he dug his fingernails into the soft ground before him. Rose grabbed his arm, but could not pull him up to safety. She reached with her other arm to grab a rope in her backpack. She quickly tied a knot to a tree sturdy enough to hold both her and Jeremy.

"Jeremy, can you tie this rope around your waist?" Rose gasped.

That made quick work of getting Jeremy to the top again. Rose was relieved that they both hadn't fallen off of the cliff. She was also relieved that he hadn't of fallen off the cliff. There is no way that she could have survived out here without some help. She was also jovial that he hadn't died for reasons she wouldn't mention.

"Now, I guess we are even." Jeremy went on to say.

"What?" Rose was so caught up in her own thoughts that she hadn't heard the question.

"We are even. I saved your life and you saved mine."

"Oh, right. Even."

Jeremy sat on the ground breathing hard. He occasionally looked at the edge, shivered, and went back to staring at the ground. Rose played with her hair, noticing that the wild made it a little wavy, and waited for Jeremy to say something. It seemed to her like hours had gone by before he said something.

"This wouldn't be a good place to camp for the night, let's go back into the forest."

"Okay."

They had walked back into the forest the way they came. Rose concluded that it was much easier to go on the path they had made earlier than to make a new path. They were walking for a while with their flashlights on when Rose's hair got caught on a tree branch.

"Ouch!" Rose exclaimed.

"What?" Jeremy turned around and walked towards Rose to see what the problem was. He began to unknot her hair from the threatening tree.

"I got it. I don't need assistance to unknot my hair."

Jeremy dropped his hands and waited for Rose to get the knot out herself, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get the knot out.

"Okay, maybe I do need some help."

Jeremy stepped closer to inspect the knot before he finally got it out. He didn't move back to let Rose pass or for them to continue their way back. Instead he just stood there looking very deeply into Rose's eyes. He still held Rose's hair in his hands. Rose didn't know how long they stood there looking into each other's eyes. Unexpectedly, both of their stomachs started growling at the same time. Which they started to burst out laughing.

"I guess we had better get some food, before our stomachs create a symphony together." Jeremy said as he walked away.

"Yes, I don't want to know how to play Beethoven with my stomach." Rose said with her laugh still in her voice.

After they had gotten some food, just bananas, they set up camp. This was only their second night in the wild, but they had learned not to take food for granted. As they built the fire, the bushes behind Rose's blanket began to quiver only slightly, but Rose and Jeremy didn't notice this seeing how they we about to drift off to sleep. A very low and long growl echoed against the trees, and the bushes began to shake even more. A set of eyes appeared. These eyes caught everything that was going on in the camp, and rested their gaze on the two bodies with slow and easy breathing.

The growling got louder and louder as Rose and Jeremy slept on. A twig snapped which was loud enough to wake both Rose and Jeremy. The growling got even louder and more menacing as the set of eyes burned into the backs of the two forms that we now wide awake and fully aware of their surroundings. Jeremy and Rose were in each other's arms when the saw a huge furry figure step out of the bush. Their faces were white with fear as the creature opened its mouth and . . .

"Would you like some tea?" A British accent asked in the most polite manner.

Jeremy and Rose sighed as Lizzy-bell, Catidid, and Kane pulled off their blankets and burst out laughing.

"Oh, my goodness! You should have seen your faces! What a way to sneak up on people out in the middle of the woods." Catidid said between giggles. All three high-fived each while still laughing.

"Okay, so now that we are all together, would you mind explaining why you went off and left us?" Jeremy said, not very amused by their little prank.

"Well, maybe we left to go and follow Sandra and Jacob." Kane said turning back to the matter at hand.

"Why would you need to follow them?" Rose asked confused.

"Because they are the inside job." Lizzy-bell said with her eyes glinting, full of hatred.
