DEE's NOTE: The story can actually go on without these succeeding chapter, but I just wanted to give you some hints why Spring's rude way of interacting to my poor Rain was like that. Haha. 😂 Enjoy!
SPECIAL CHAPTER - PIECES OF PAST I
I WAS ELEVEN when I first found myself, scared and utterly ignorant, at Olympus Hotel's grounds along with a younger version of a rugged man, holding my hand as he brightly smiled down at me. It was the Head of DAWN, Tito Zeus.
"This will be your new home."
That was what he have said I remembered before he led me to the flight of wide stairs, heading to the hotel's entrance.
I could still clearly recall the curious stares and questioning look etched in the faces of some employees as I first set my foot against the shiny marble floor of the place.
It was only when I was twelve back then when Blaze and I was kidnapped by some human trafficking syndicates did I finally put the pieces together and understand why. Of course, all horrifying explanations of truth came from our kidnappers who ended up all dead even before rescue came to us.
I was halfway to my thirteenth year when Tito Zeus, prior to that kidnapping incident happened, had me and Blaze in a self-defense class and series of do or die strict trainings along with some children's of DAWN agents, did I met this bunch of weird kids about my age.
"Spring," Blaze started with a bright smile on her face as always, "this is Hypnos," she pointed to the kid with round, Harry Potter-like eyeglasses and have a seemingly permanent sleepy set of stormy grey eyes, "Yvo," then to the auburn army-cut haired kid with eyes as green as forest, who's smiling so creepily wide, "Rain," she gestured to the other kid who's lying lazily on the floor—eyes closed—not caring if someone's talking about him.
The only two things I could make out about his physiques was his slightly curl burgundy hair and the mole beneath his left eye.
"Hoy, Rain! Pumunta ka nga rito!" Blaze shouted but the mutt only rolled himself away until he collided with another kid who's doing the same craziness as him. He changed position and rolled back on the different direction again, right straight inside the firing range training room where some of our instructors were.
Hindi na ako nagtaka pa nang makita mula sa sound proof glass walls no'n na pinagalitan siya ng isa sa mga instructors at ituro siya palabas. The mutt who had sat while he was berated, laid down again and rolled over his way outside.
"Baliw talaga ang 'sang iyon."
I definitely seconded the motion.
Blaze then clapped her hands. "You met that obnoxious kid named Rain and now for the last but not the least, meet Luk—huweyt! Nasa'n na si Lukan?!" eksaherada niyang tanong kina Yvo at Hypnos na seryosong pinagbubunong-braso ang figurine ni Saitama ng One Punch Man at San Goku ng Dragon Balls.
"Dunno," Hypnos answered, "he's probably somewhere out there looking for wild plants."
"Hanapin mo," Yvo then replied in a sing-sang manner, grinning widely as his Saitama figurine won the brawl. "Ha-ha! Nanalo ako! Akin na si Cara ngayon!" aroganteng bulalas nito ng nakapameywang pa't humalakhak ng pagkalakas-lakas habang nakatingala sa kisame.
Nakasimangot at walang kabuhay-buhay ang mga matang inayos ni Hypnos ang kaniyang salamin. "Mababawi ko rin siya."
Blaze tugged my wrist and dragged me away to the two. "Come on. Baka kapag na-expose ka ng sobra sa mga iyon ay mahawaan ka na rin ng ka-abnormal-an nila."
