"Here, Tobias." I say as I hand him my brother's metal baseball bat.
"What do I get?" Jess asks me, Tobias cuts in
"A nail file, Jess so you can jab his eyes out.
"Shut up you jerk" she mumbles. Quickly finding the knife draw I grab two,
"Here Jess here's a knife." I said while handing it to her.
"What's our plan?" Tobias asks.
"We all head upstairs to look for my brother and we stick together." I tell them both while looking dead in their eyes.
Nodding their heads they both whisper sure and okay.
Moving quietly ahead I have Tobias in front of me and Jess behind me, we mount the stairs quietly on the fourth step we hear a door creaking loud downstairs.
"What's that?" Jess whispers in my ear, turning off my light I grab Tobias shirt to pull him back and whisper
"Do not move the stairs will creek." Nodding his head in the dark a crack of lightning comes through the windows and we see a figure in the archway of the dining room. Pushing further against the wall, we stay still and quiet. A creaking step indicates him on the stairs with us, grabbing onto Tobias' sleeve, I hold my knife in my left hand. Then another creaking step now he's two steps away from us, out of my corner of my eye I see Jess moving her knife around in the dark getting ready for aim.
Everything happened so fast I felt Jess stab Simon then his body rolling down the stairs, gasping I turn on my flashlight to flash it in jess's way but her spot empty, freezing against Tobias I flash my light down the stairs a silent scream comes from me as I see Jess at the bottom of the stairs.
"JESS!" Tobias screams making a break for her he squats next to her while I'm still frozen against the wall. "She's got a pulse!!" Tobias screams. Relief floods me but soon ends as I see Simon approach behind Tobias,
"Tobias behind you!" I scream. Simon approaches slowly as Tobias stands up ready to fight.
"Olive, go now! Find Charlie!" he yells not breaking eye contact with Simon, Simon with a knife in his hand catches Tobias off guard and stabs him in the leg. Gasping out I start to go down the stairs but Tobias' hand stops me "Go now!" He screams.
