Behind The Walls

He escaped

As rain pelts down on me and Charlie whom is still passed out in my arms, I see the sirens against the house and the shouting coming from the police.
Two police officers rush towards me and shout

"are you okay!? Ma'am do you need an EMT?" nodding my head yes, I feel Charlie being pulled away from and someone lifting me into their arms.

Squinting through the rain I look over to who's carrying me. and to my shock it's Tobias. Tobias?

"What..what are you doing?" I ask,

"Relax Olive the ambulance is coming and I'm not going to let you lie on the soaked ground." He replies.
Nodding my head I relax my body against his hold, as the ambulance comes around I'm pulled out of Tobias arms into a EMT's arms, looking around as im set onto the back of the ambulance.

"Where's..wheres my brother?" I ask as I panic looking around the ambulance,

"calm down dear he's in the ambulance next to yours" the young EMT tells me.

"What hurts, young lady?" The EMT asks,
"umm my back is badly hurt, my ankle is twisted and my head hurts." nodding his head he rushes into the back of the ambulance. Suddenly I'm being hugged tightl. "mom?" I mumble into her work clothes,

"Dear Olive I'm so sorry I should have listened to you." She replies as she cries into my shoulder,

"mom it's okay." I tell her as I hug her back.
"wheres Charlie?" she asks frantically as she pulls away,

"he's in the next ambulance." I reply. "Go mom he needs you." I assure her, "ill be right back baby."

"Alright ma'am for now I'm going to wrap your ankle and your back then you're gonna have to go to the hospital for a MRI for your head." the EMT tells me as he sets down all of his gauzes and stuff,

"yes sir." I mumble out.
"Olive!" Jess screams rushing towards me,

"yeah?" I reply "he..they...cant...find...simon." she gasps out from being out of breath, my whole body froze

" I..what do you mean!?" I screech out.

Tobias then comes over with crutches, "I'm so sorry I lived but the police searched the whole house and not one sign of him. they're saying he escaped." Tobias tells me, starting to cry, Tobias climbs onto the ambulance,

" shhhh." he whispers in my ear as he hugs me.

" I'm so scared." I mumble into his shoulder,

"hey look at me," he tells me.
Looking at him he whispers

"don't ever be afraid I'll always be here, Olive." Nodding my head I look over towards the EMT whos wrapping my ankle, My mom walks over with Maria Maples.

"How are you dear?" Maria asks me,

"I'm okay." I say.

"they cant find him." My words are barely a whisper. I'm squeezed again by my mother then I hear her say

"don't worry baby they will."

"Ma'am we need to take your children to the hospital now." the EMT says to my mother, sniffling she pulls away,

"hows my brother?"

"He's fine dear and he's away but he needs an MRI as well. The EMT replies back to as he helps me and onto and stretcher.

"I'll go with you." Tobias voice rings out.

"Me too, idiot." Jess replies to her brother, making me smile.

"Dear I'm gonna go with Charlie Okay? But I'll be right behind you." My mom tells me while leaning into the ambulance, nodding my head okay she disappears.
