After eating pizza and telling my mom about Tobias the pizza guy and what he said about the house she wasn't even fazed by it. It was eight thirty when my mom told me to get Charlie ready for bed. Tucking him in I lean down to talk to him
"Listen Charlie, I'm right next door all you gotta do is scream for me okay? And if you ever need Mom shes right down the hallway."
" Alright Olly, but what if i have to pee?" He asks me.
"Char you're a big boy, you can go by yourself and plus we have conjoined bathrooms which means you can always run and get me." Staring at me in tired eyes
"Alright Olly but if monsters get me don't cry for me." he says in a serious tone, laughing I say
"You'll be fine Charlie, now get some sleep and tomorrow we're gonna tour the neighborhood oh and look for a park." At that his eyes light up. "Night now" I say as I kiss his forehead, I quietly walk out leaving the door open a crack.
Walking over to the banister over looking the downstairs I spot my mom locking up the front door and windows,
"Psst Mom" I whisper catching her attention, "Good night oh and Char is fast asleep."
"Thank you Olive." She says as she walks upstairs "Are you taking him out tomorrow?" She asks me,
"Yes I am, Mom I'm gonna look for a park for him."
"Okay good." She replies "Well good night Olive oh! I start work tomorrow."
"Alright mom night." I mumble walking into my room.
Inside my room I close all the curtains and open the bathroom door so I can hear if my brother needs me, turning off all the lights I cannon ball into bed. Trying to sleep is hard in a new house but something jolts me up in my bed. I hear a pinging sound against my wall all the way across my room. Jumping of bed I flick my lights on but as I study everything I cant see anything; moving closer to the wall I put my ear against it. Listening closer I can hear almost static like a static TV on. Rolling my eyes I must be tired, turning of my light I jump back into bed. Glancing at the bathroom door I notice that its closed hmm maybe my brother closed it, rolling over I start to doze off but in the background I hear the toilet flush. Must be my brother I say in my mind, drifting off I hear the bathroom door open but I'm already passed out when I feel my blanket move but I don't even care if it's my brother right now.
Rolling over in my sleep I pull him closer to me almost in a big bear hug and fall into a deep sleep, breathing in a smell something different unusual for my brothers clean clothes.
