Unexpected (Harry Potter fan fic)

Chapter 28

*Rebekah's P.O.V*

I got on John's back. Scorp was getting on Gigi's back with Fred behind her. I had so kindly offered to take George on John with me.

Today was the final battle. One would die tonight. We seen Harry, Ron and Hermione arrive at Hogwarts.

We immediately went to pick up Fred and George. Scorp had promised them that we would take them because no one had any idea of where to apperate to without the dementors finding you.

Scorp and Fred have been happily married for a few months now. All I wanted was for someone to love me as much as they love each other. Of course I love Draco but he doesn't love me back.

Chloe and Seamus have been happily married too and they went to Ireland together for a week to visit his mum and dad.

John took off at the same time as Gigi and he soared through the sky. It was not long before we landed in hogsmeade.

We quietly got off John and Gigi and let them take off into the sky again.

"Over here" a voice whispered to us from inside the hogs head. We ran up the lonely streets and just as we began to feel the dementors around us, we were inside.

We were faced with an old man with long grey hair and the blue eyes that I can never forget.

"Are you related to Dumbledore?" I asked. The old man nodded.

"I'm his brother now go through this hallway. It will lead you to the room of requirements" he told us, pointing to a dark passage that is hidden behind a portrait.

"Isn't this the sealed of route from hogsmeade?" Scorp asked Fred and George.

"Bloody hell, it is!" Fred exclaimed.

"Well come on!" I exclaim. We start walking down the passageway.

"You sound like your going to a party not a battle were thousands will lose their lives" Scorp told me.

"Oh, shut up" I said. We arrived in the room of requirements eventually. There was millions of people in here now. We quickly found Chloe and we left the room together.

Tonks came rushing up to us. She looked to have been crying.

"Have you seen Lupin? I need to find him!" she exclaimed. We shook our heads and just as she was about to run off, I stopped her.

"I'll come with you, to help you find him" I told her. She nodded.

"I'll see you both later" I tell them. I hope, I added in my mind. I gave them both a hug.

"If anything happens just know that you are the bestest friends ever" I tell them. They laugh but its shaky and there are tears in their eyes.

"Same here" Chloe adds.

"Here too" Scorp tells us. I wave to them before running off with Tonks to find Remus. Yes we are on first names basis. You kind of have to be to be their child's godmother.

We looked around and Tonks spotted Harry, Ron and Hermione.

"Have you seen Lupin?" she asked. They shook their heads.

"What are you doing with her?" Harry asks.

"I thought Chloe told Hermione?" I asked more to myself than him.

"Not all of us believe things that easily" He said.

"I swear Harry, what Chloe said was true. I don't have time right now but just ask yourself right now. Why would I be helping Tonks instead of killing her right now. Why would we be wanted for betraying the Death Eaters?" I asked him. Before giving him a chance to answer, I left with Tonks.

We wondered down halls and through empty classrooms until we finally found Remus outside.

"There you are!" Tonks exclaimed. She wrapped her arms around him and brought him into a tight hug.

"Its going to be fine" he tells her. He pats her hair soothingly and I can't help but wish someone would do that to me. I am terrified but I'm not going to show it. We hear a cackle and I turn around. It was that oh so famous Lestrange cackle. Before you say, Bellatrix, think again. Ellie Lestrange, Hogwarts defence against the dark arts teacher was standing behind us with her wand raised.

"Crucio!" she shouted. I felt as if a million knives were tearing me to pieces. I swear it was worse than getting a dark mark. I screamed in pain and soon the knives were gone.

"Avada Kedavra!" she exclaimed. I hugged my arms around my body, waiting for the darkness to take over or see the light or for my life flash before my eyes or something. But it didn't come. I looked up to see a body lying on the ground. I heard sobbing behind me before Tonks ran over to the body.

Lupin's body.

Tears prickled my eyes as I looked at the sagged figure. He had dies protecting me. I wasn't even important to him. I was his school enemy's sister for Godric's sake! Its all my fault. He's gone! He's never coming back. I was about to run up to him when Ellie called out something else.

"Avada Kedavra!" she shouted once again. The jet of green light hit Tonks right in the centre of her stomach. I let out a whimper. They were both gone. What will happen to Teddy? Then it changed to anger. Who does she think she is? She just took an innocent child's parents away! She was just as bad as her mother and I am going to put an end to it. I lifted my wand.

"Avada Keda-"  I was cut off when I seen a jet of green coming my way. I quickly ducked but Ellie wasn't fast enough. Her body lay slouched on the ground. I looked back and saw that none other than Bellatrix had shot that curse. Of course she had been aiming for me but imagine killing your own daughter? She ran over to Ellie's body. She quickly picked it up and ran towards the forest with her.

I looked at Lupin and Tonk's body's. I couldn't just leave them here. I used my wand to lift their body's and floated them into the great hall. There were many other body's in there. Not a sign of Chloe, Scorp, Fred and George yet. I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing.

At least the worst of it is over. Why didn't I realise, in that moment, how bad I was jinxing myself there. Because things after that definitely didn't get better.

Okay, another update. I wasn't actually planning on killing Ellie. It was quite sad for me too because she represents my sister. Maybe that's why I killed of her character. Oh well, she's dead now. Thanks for reading!
