This is it guys. The next book. I hope you guys like what I've done here. The cover was made by Izzicle check her out she's a good writer. Anyway, read on.

"Momma! I can't find my stele!!!" I screamed down the stairs. My room was an utter mess, I had thrown everything around trying to find the stele because we have training this afternoon.

There was an audible sigh before my twin, Grayson, appeared in our room.

"Reina for the twelfth time, you gave it to me after our last training session last week." He pulled the stele out of his pocket and held it in the air. "Now clean this up before we start." With that remark the stele was back in his pocket and he was out the door.

I glanced around the room to see that my half of the room had my blankets and clothes everywhere. While Gray's half looked kind of clean for a boy. Quickly I made the bed and threw all of the clothes into my laundry basket which made the room look clean.

The gear for our training sessions was kept in a wardrobe that held all of our shadowhunter possessions. From seraph blades to the codex, we had everything in there. I slipped into my gear and tied my white hair up in a high pony tail to keep it out of the way.

"Reina hurry up! Clary and Jace are here" my mom yelled up to me.

"Coming!" I shouted as I grabbed a seraph blade and made my way out of the room. Clary and Jace have been coming over once a week for the past seven years to train us in the shadow hunting ways.

Seven years ago, on mine and my brothers tenth birthday we discovered our abilities. Somehow we possesed both the shadow hunting ability and our mothers flames. The flames have to be kept hidden from the clave. Only Clary, Jace, Wanda, and our mother know of the abilities.

"Finally you decide to show your face." My uncle Jace joked as I entered the living room.

"You should know that it takes time to get myself to look this amazing." I playfully punched his shoulder as I strolled past him to give Clary a hug.

Clary Fairchild, my aunt and my father's sister. When I was younger I wondered why she had a different last name than my father but then I learned the story of Valentine Morganstern and I understood. Not many people want a monsters last name. I lucked out huh?

"We have to get started." She said as she pulled out of the hug. "There's a few hours left until dark and your mother wants you guys with her at dinner. Let's go."

"Bye mom!" Grayson and I said in unison as we walked out if the door. We do that a lot. Wanda says it's our twin connection but it's not like we can read each other's minds. Uh.. yeah... that's a bit of a lie.

From the time we were born until we were ten and developed our powers, Grayson and I could always talk without actually ... talking. If that makes sense. In simpler terms Grayson and I are telepathic.

It's not uncommon between twin warlocks. Although it is completely unheard up between twin shadowhunters. Me and Gray are special because we are both. We can bear the marks of a shadowhunter and yet we still have the fire of Canicus running through our veins. Though the clave does not know this bit of information as I've said before.

As we approached the field that we used for training Clary and Jace gave us a pop quiz on what we had learned last week.

"Alright Reina your turn." Jace spoke up. "What do you do when a demon has you cornered?"

"Trick question." I laughed in his face. "Don't let that happen honey." And I ruffled his hair.

"Ha ha." He fake laughed. "Alright you guys are going to spar today. Clary and I are going to watch to see what you know."

Gray and I split up then. He went to one side of the field while I the other. I took my jacket off and dropped it on the ground with my stele after drawing a few runes on me. I grabbed my seraph blade and walked to the center of the ring that had been drawn in the area.

Gray had also stripped of his jacket and grabbed his blade. He was stronger than I am. Not gonna lie. But I am much more agile and I can dodge.

"No blades this time actually." Clary surprised us with this. "It's hand to hand. Toss the blades out of the circle."

We did as instructed and brought our hands up to start waiting for the word.

"Begin."

You know how in all the fight scenes in movies where they fist fight and they just circle each other a few times before actually hitting?

That doesn't happen with us.

Gray lunged at me preparing to punch when I ducked, I maneuvered around him while tripping him to the ground. He caught my foot and pulled me with him.

He was the first to his feet a few seconds before me. Once I was up I turned back on him he threw another punch at me landing it in my stomach. It knocked the wind out of me but I kept going. We threw more punches at each other, taking turns in who dodged and who punched. Right when I saw he was throwing another punch I threw all my weight in and tackled him to the ground.

"Woo-hoo go Reina!" Clary's voice cut through the fighting making me smirk. This moment of pride I took in myself distracted me from Gray.

Gotcha Reina.

The voice of my arrogant brother shrouded my thoughts long enough for him to get a grip on my leg and slam me down into the dirt.

You fucking bastard

I tried to push myself off the ground to continue the fight but I felt a boot placed onto my back preventing me from getting up.

"Say mercy." Gray spoke out loud this time.

"M-" I struggled with my words causing him to remove his foot and look at me with worry.

"Rein? You okay?" He crouched down and put a hand on my back.

"M-m... my how gullible you are Grayson." I laughed and sprang off the ground and landed a few feet away from my brother.

His stunned look turned into one of irritation as he realized I played him. He sprinted full force at me. I counted on this and waited until he was just close enough and dodged out of the way.

I was not quick enough because my leg jerked back and I landed flat on my back on the ground letting out a groan of pain.

I had a plan, but it didn't work. Grayson always somehow figures out my plans. This incident may or may not have triggered me a little bit.

I slowly got to my feet and noticed a tear in my shirt right near my belly button, further fueling my anger towards Grayson right now. My pony tail had fallen almost all of the way out so I grabbed the hair tie out of my hair and slipped it back on my wrist in one swift motion.

Gray stepped closer to me already back in fighting stance. Cocky as usual. Always thinking that he is going to win and be better than I am. Well you know what?

Not this time Grayson

All I saw was red for a moment. I felt myself rising into the hair and as I rose so did the temperature around us. I could hear everyone around me trying to calm me down but I just couldn't.

Luckily I was aware enough of my surroundings to not turn to Grayson. I pushed myself forward into the woods away from everyone else and I released the flames as a screamed.

You may think I'm overreacting but this happens every time we spar. Grayson knows that somehow he is superior in fighting. And he wins everytime.

I guess he has more angel in him than I do. I have more demon. That's why I have a harder time controlling my temper. The fire in me is too strong. With me being born first I was told I absorbed more of the fire into me. Grayson got the rest.

Meaning that there was more angel in him. Sometimes I feel like a monster but he is one too.

I finally calmed down to see a 12 meter radius of burnt trees and plants around me. And right at the edge of that radius was my mother.

Oh shit.
