Reina: Chapter 3

After Grayson noticed the eyes in the trees I nudged my mother. "There" I pointed to the trees.

She looked between Grayson and I before looking back at the forest. We all raised our weapons preparing for a battle.

The first wave of demons rushed out of the woods. Clary and Jace lunged forward into the horde, slitting throats and cutting limbs. My mother and I strategically threw fire balls, making sure to avoid Jace and Clary.

Gray snatched a seraph blade off of my back and rushed forward to guard us.

"They are mordor demons!" Clary shouted. "Aim for their eyes, that's the fastest way to kill them."

As instructed I aimed my Faire balls a little higher toward the demons faces. Mom did the same. One of the creatures reached the porch and started up behind Grayson.

BEHIND YOU GRAY!!

He spun with force and stabbed the demon in the eye, killing in one swift motion. The horde kept coming closer and began to close in. Clary and Jace had taken care of half the first horde, us getting the rest. The second horde pushed out of the trees. All of them sprinting at us. Clary and Jace were about to be overrun.

Stay with mom and Wanda, Grayson.

Why? What are you doing Rey??

What I do best. Losing control.

I pushed past my mother and Grayson hearing both of their cries for me to stop but I just couldn't. Jace and Clary were in trouble.

The demons rushed forward and just as they were about to reach them, I shot out a huge burst of flaming energy at the demons. Swiftly dodging the two shadowhunters. They both turned around with a shocked look on their faces as I stopped next to them.

"What are you doing Reina?" Clary screamed. "It's too dangerous."

"Im helping." I drew a thick ring of fire around the three of us keeping the demons out and us protected. "Now use your bow and kill them."

Jace pulled out his bow as I instructed and shot a mordor demon right in the eye as it tried to jump over the ring. The carcass landed in the flames becoming a pile of ash.

As I held the ring up I looked back to the porch and found Wanda doing the same thing, casting a forcefield over her my mother and Grayson. There were more demons on them than on us because they shied away from the flames.

"I'm going back to mom!" I screamed at Clary and she nodded putting her blase in position to fight again.

I dropped the ring of fire and started running. Two demons came in my path running straight for me. I covered my body in my flames as a shield and shot flames in their direction. The first one crumbled to the ground before me. The second one disappeared from my line of sight. I turned to find it and I was thrown to the ground by a massive weight.

The demon had leaped on top of me. I grabbed at its jaws to keep them from crushing my head in them. With the demon on top of me I lit my hands up in fire and shot flames down its throat.

The creature hissed and fell off of me choking down the flames. Suddenly an arrow pierced it's eye and it dropped to the ground. Dead.

I turned to Jace and nodded to him which he returned. My mother was on the porch battling with another demon. It scratched at her and slashed her arm.

"No!" I screamed as the demon latched it's jaws on my mother's arm and her pained cry filled the air. A force shot me through the air and I stopped right next to my mother. I grabbed the demon by its throat and pulled it off of my mother, she fell back into Wanda's healing hands.

The demon struggled against me for a moment before it's heart burst into flames and it died. I did not do that.

Grayson's arm was held out at the demon, once I dropped it's body to the ground his arm fell to his side.

"Thank you." I whispered. I looked around us to see that only the bodies of demons remained and there were no more alive.

Clary and Jace were walking back to us. Clary's arm was slung around Jace's shoulder as he helped her up to the porch. A demon had bitten her ankle and she couldn't walk on her own.

I helped Jace help her unto the porch and into one of the chairs we had. I left him there to draw the iratze on her.

Wanda and my mother were on the side of the porch. Other than the blood staining her clothes she was fine. Wanda had healed her wound quickly.

"Thank you Reina." Mom said to me. Talking about how I got that demon off of her.

I nodded to her and went to check on my twin. Grayson had stepped off of the porch and was guarding the steps. He had a few scratches on him but other than that he was fine. I ruffled his black hair and patted his shoulder.

"You did great Grayson." I kept my eyes out, not watching gray but watching for more threats. He did the same.

"No, you did great. Running out there to protect Clary and Jace was very brave. And you didn't lose control you kept clam and only harmed the demons with your fire. It was amazing Reina."

I smiled. "How did you manage to set that demons heart on fire? It was controlled and confined. "

"I was actually trying to set all of him on fire." He nervously laughed and rubbed his neck. "Couldn't figure it out so I just went for the heart."

I was about to say something when we heard a large group of howls in the air. Not a wolf's howl. A demons.

On the porch Wanda and mom stood up straight and nodded to each other. "Gray and Reina come here." Wanda was working on conjuring something up on the side of the porch as we heard the demons approaching in the forest.

Clary and Jace stood behind us as we walked to our mother.

"We are going to go through the portal to new York with Clary and Jace it's the only option right now. Quickly." My mother said.

Wanda's portal was open and we could see the trees and the grass in a park somewhere. Clary and Jace rushed through. Grayson next and then me. I turned before passing through the portal to look behind and a demon jumped and grabbed my mother pulling her away.

"MOM!!" I tried to get to her when Wanda grabbed my shirt and tossed me into the portal. I landed face first in the dirt in central park. I lunged toward the portal, I saw my mother's flaming figure being pulled by a demon and Wanda running after her.

Just as i reached the portal it snapped shut.
