The next morning I woke up in magnus' guest room. The one he lent to me and Reina. I turned my head in her direction to find her asleep, her white hair covering her face and the pillow. So I quietly got up and left the room.

Magnus had a rather large apartment. Luckily for me the entrance to our room is in the living room so I didn't have to do much searching to find magnus in the kitchen which was right next to the living room.

He was cooking up something, not food more of a potion by the looks of it.

"Hey magnus. How's it going?" I stood at the counter across from him watching him work.

"Good now that I finally know the last ingredient for this potion." He threw something in the bowl that looked like a twig to me but I had no idea. "Take a seat." He gestured to the stool next to me.

I slid onto the stool and took a look around the kitchen. It had a modern look to it. Sleek sliver appliances, a dark gray granite counter top, and white cabinets. All in all a normal kitchen.

"Magnus do you really think you can help us find our mother?" I didn't look at him as I asked this, I stared down at my finger trailing circles on the counter.

"I will do everything in my power to help you find her." He assured me.

"But what if she's.... gone. What then?" I asked the question that had been bouncing around in my head since we discovered she went missing.

"Then you guys have a few choices." He sat the potion down he was fooling with and looked up at me. "One: you guys could go back home and try to go back to normal. Though that wouldn't be likely cause neither of you can make a portal to get out of there and you don't have any money for mundane transportation."

"You're right about that, we didn't need money because Wanda took care of groceries and clothing and stuff like that for us." I nodded.

"Two: Stay here with me, you guys can live here in new York and stay in my apartment. That way you won't have to deal with the Institute. But your last option is to go to the Institute and continue your training. Once you go there though they won't let you leave until you are of age." The last part was said with what sounded like sarcasm.

"Oh..." I mumbled. "I'll let Reina decide. She's the oldest." I laughed at the last part.

"With her being the oldest does that mean that her powers are stronger?" Magnus asked. "I know that I usually the case with twin warlocks even though twins don't happen very often."

"That's what we think." I admitted. "Her powers with the fire are much stronger then mine are, I'm better with weapons and working like a shadowhunter."

"Everyone has got something." A new voice chimed in. Both magnus and I turned to the doorway to find Clary standing there in what seemed to be her pajamas. "I know that I was better at being good than Jonathan. He did have demon blood in his veins all things considered."

"Well so do we but we turned out good." I mumbled under my breath.

She didn't seem to hear. She plopped down on the other stool next to me, and snatched a piece of toast off of a plate. I swear that plate wasn't there before. I took a piece as well.

"So I take it Jace is still sleeping his life away in the other room." Magnus said while continuing on his potion. Which was soon turning into a breakfast. Eggs, sausage, orange juice, and waffles in the corner. The potion just seemed to be busy work while he conjured up the rest. I gladly partook of the delicious food around us.

"You guessed it magnus. When is he ever not sleeping?" She laughed as more food popped up on the counter.

"Right now." Jace appeared in the doorway and his eyes lit up when he saw the food. "Magnus this is why we keep you around."

"You're right. It's not because I keep the wards up on the city or help you kill greater demons, it's because of the food." I could just taste the sarcasm in his voice.

"Yep." Jace laughed as he put some more food in his mouth.

They continued with some conversation I couldn't really get involved in because i wasn't from here. I never really went out into the mundane world at all.

Gray...why am I the only one in here? Are you dead or something?

My sister's groggy mind voice echoed through my head. "The beast is awake" I said out loud causing Clary, Jace, and Magnus to look at me like I was insane.

In the kitchen Rein.

Less than a second later my twin came thorough the doorway, not hesitating before grabbing a plate and filling it with food. Audible 'ohhh's were let out by the other three in the room once they realized I meant her.

"What's everyone 'oh'-ing?" Reina said between bites of food. "I know I'm gorgeous but it's a little dulled when I first wake up, give me a few minutes to let it kick in." She continued shoving food in her face.

"Ok Reina, enough with the chit-chat." Said Magnus as the food finally finished making itself. " We need to get down to business to start trying to find your mother. Do either of you have something we can use to try and track her? Like some clothing or jewelry, or something of the sort?"

"Nothing of my knowledge." I said. "Neither of us have anything of hers."

"Actually I do..." Reina said in a low voice. "A few days before my birthday I was going through her room and I borrowed her favorite earrings, I only planned to wear them for my birthday and then I was gonna give them back." As she said this she took one earring out of her ear and handed it to Magnus. The earring was a simple diamond stud, my mom only wore simple jewelry, excluding her amulet of course but that wasn't really jewelry as it was a part of her.

"This should work." Said Magnus with some excitement. " Let me try it." He placed the earring in the center of his palm and placed his other hand over it. He mumbled some words that we couldn't really hear and a shimmer of blue magic swirled around his hands. The magic moved away from his hands and made a surface like a mirror in front of Magnus. It was blank.

Magnus looked towards the surface in despair and released the magic. He handed the earring back to Reina, he said "It seems I cannot track your mother, because she's in a demon dimension."
