For what felt like an eternity we stood there. Staring at where the portal had been. Eventually Clary broke the silence over us.

"We need magnus!" She cried. "He can get us back there. And we just might be able to save them."

"Guy's this city is different your going to have to glamour yourselves. The mundanes don't need to see shadowhunters." Jace said as he activated his glamour rune.

We did the same and we all rushed off toward Magnus Bane's home.

The four of us sprinted out of central park and made our way down a set of stairs to the subway. It's an underground train thing that travels at faster speeds then I can imagine.

Seeing as we were glamoured we just hopped onto a train with no one noticing.

"How long will this take for us to get to magnus?" Reina asked as she tugged on a strand of her waist length long hair. A nervous habit of hers.

"Well magnus lives about 20 blocks from central park so it should take ten minutes at most." Jace placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as she nodded.

We were silent for the entire ride. Reina stared off into space. I knew she was thinking of all the horrible things that could be happening to mom and Wanda. I tried not to. That would cause me to freak out and we needed more people to be rational than to be freaking out.

The subway pulled to a stop and we all rushed off. Once we made our way back to the street Clary pointed out magnus' building and the four of us sprinted there not breaking stride.

Elevators are the most annoying thing when you are in a hurry. They take ten years to get to you and ten more to get you where you are going.

Reina tapping her foot the while way up to magnus' apartment didn't help the stress. But the second the elevator doors opened we were all gone.

"Magnus!!!" Clary yelled as she banged on the door. "Open up its an emergency!!"

Once the word emergency was out of her mouth the door flung open to reveal the glittery warlock in a long Chinese looking robe.

"Is everything Allright clary?" He pulled her inside and the rest of us followed. Jace shut the door behind us while Clary tried to explain.

"This is Reina and Grayson Morganstern." Clary said as we nodded to magnus. "Yes Jonathan had children before he died, they've been living in the outskirts of Paris. But that's not important right now. There mother is in trouble and we need you to open up a portal. Now!"

"I need to have seen the place in order to take you there. Which if you is comfortable with me looking inside your head?" He looked between Reina and I. "I just need to see the place for a second and then I can make the portal."

"I'll do it." I said and stepped forward. "I have pretty strong memories so it should work."

Magnus took hold of my hand and whispered some words in a language I couldn't understand. Instantly an image of my home appeared in my mind. The old bricks of the house matched perfectly with the vines running up the sides.

I felt my hand be released and my vision came back instantly to find a portal. Opened up to my front porch. Without a second thought Reina and I shot through the portal, Clary Jace and magnus were seconds behind us.

The demon carcasses were gone, transfered back to their realms.

"They are gone." Reina said. "Mom and Wanda are gone..." She sank to her knees in the grass. Clary followed and comforted her while Jace magnus and I took a look around.

The house seemed fine other than the broken window. Which magnus took upon himself to fix. I was grateful but couldn't pull the words out of myself. The three of us made our way around the house. Checking for demons or any sign of mom and Wanda.

We found nothing.

Reina and Clary weren't in the same spot we left them. Clary had backed up onto the porch away from Reina, who happened to be in another bubble of her fire.

"What the hell is this?" Magnus spit as her stared in wonder at Reina's flames.

"We will explain everything later magnus." Jace said and patted the warlocks shoulder. "For now we need to get her calmed down and get back to new York."

"I've got it. The flames won't hurt me." I handed my seraph blade off to Jace and made my way towards Reina.

I heard magnus asking tons of questions at Jace and Clary as I approached. They both told him we would explain later and asked him to place wards around the house. He did so, muttering to himself about no one ever telling him anything.

I spilt a hole in Reina's bubble of fire big enough for me to fit through and grab her. It's hard to talk with flames surrounding me so I went into her head.

Reina... this won't help mom. You have to calm down so we can go back to new York and start planning on how to find her.

Gray, I can't calm down. I'm trying! But I keep thinking about how those demons ambushed us and I..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

She screamed in my head causing a throbbing pain to pulse through my head.  And me to back away from her a bit.

Ok Rey, I'm going to tell you a story. That ought to get you to calm down right?

She whimpered in response.

One day many years ago a pair of twins were playing in their room. The eldest twin, a girl, was playing with a doll. The doll had long white hair, it was made to look just like the little girl. The younger twin, a boy, was practicing with his throwing knives.

The boy looked at the girl playing and laughed at her. He said "You'll never learn anything from playing with dolls" He threw his knife and cleanly sliced the dolls head off.

This enraged the little girl. She loved that doll because it was her favorite toy. She screamed and the boy laughed, but not for long. He looked back at his sister and fount fire pouring out of her hands. Before he knew it his hair was in fire.

He screamed and this caused their mother to rush up the stairs. She burst through the door to see the scene before here. She laughed and with a wave of her hand she put the fire out.

"I told you not to mess with your sister Grayson,  you didn't listen."

She pulled them both in her arms as they cried over their lost things. A warlock, a family friend of theirs, came in. She also laughed. With a flick of her wrist the doll was fixed and so was the little boys hair.

She joined in on the hug and all of them laughed at the way the children had acted. But this was family, it had healed itself with the help of a mother and a friend.

Reina collapsed into my arms, sobbing.

"Shhhh Rey it's gonna be alright." I hugged her to my chest as the last of the flames disappeared and Clary started towards us from the porch. "We're gonna find her Reina.... I promise."

Her cried were muffled by my t-shirt she sobbed into. Clary helped me get her to stand up and get to the portal magnus had conjured back to his apartment.
