Levi's gaze shifted from [Name] to where the door was being knocked just right through the hall. His jaw clenched as his eyes glazed and his touch turned cold. [Name] shifted. His eyes kept her still."Don't answer the door"
It wasn't a question. He wasn't requesting her to do so—It was an order. One she was to obey without a doubt.
"Um,Ms.[Last Name]? To have your cooperation on this case would be very much appreciated",Hubert knocked. Then came again his voice,"Mr. Ackerman needs to be located immediately, he's in need of very serious attention—",he paused as if searching for the right words to defend his approach. "—For his ..disturbed condition"
She sensed a sudden tension circulating the room after those words were uttered. Danger alerted her senses. Caution reminded her to tread carefully. Levi was a lot closer to her than to Hubert,he seemed already upset with the arrival and doing anything to add it up,she assumed, would not be very wise. Levi didn't seem to be a male hesitant on using physical force.
"...The doctor",she muttered loud enough to regain his attention on her. When his gaze studied her she momentarily froze, finding her voice once more after she felt it was safe enough to do so. "The doctor he asked me,when you were still unconscious, to look after you—When you...ran away and they called, I didn't answer them",she quickly shifted her gaze to the door before returning to Levi's unreadable expression as he waited for her to continue.
"This isn't the first time they sent people over to check on me.."
For a pregnant moment,Levi kept quiet. His still gaze fixed on her making her feel even more inferior to him—It was if he was able to read her every thought like a brief note. It should've unsettled her but it wouldn't be the first time. She was always easy to read.
When he finally spoke, his tone was low only for her to hear.
"Did you answer them? When they sent people over"
She shook her head. "I..was scared",her tone rang with a sense of vulnerability that took him off guard. It sounded like the truth behind those three words were acid on her tongue. His expression hardened then softened as he looked into those round [E/C] eyes of hers filled with genuine worry and doubt —Insecurity written on her face.
He glanced at the door then back to her. His dislike of the incompetent male outside was beginning to grow thicker.
"Why?"
"...I was scared that they'd hurt you"
His face fell. Something tightened inside him. "Hurt me..?",he repeated the words to himself more than her but she answered with a weak nod before grabbing hold of his arms.
"This is the third time already, if I don't answer I think they'll get in with force"
He'd wanted to grip her tightly and make her rethink her options but was immobilized instantly with sensual restraint as she pressed herself against him,the touch of her thighs touching his and the swell of her chest against him—Inwardly, his senses roared. Outwardly, his composure grew strained.
'Do you know what you're even doing, brat?'
'She's doing this purposely'
He frowned. There hadn't been any other voices aside from his ever since he came to her house —His demons were all drowned out as long as he kept her near. So,who was the second voice he was hearing now?
"Levi? Are you listening?",the increasing pressure of her chest pressing against him and the urgent tone of her voice dragged him from his grim thoughts. His grey eyes met hers and a slight blush tinted her cheeks. His jaw clenched. Sixteen and already so enticing, what has the world come to?
