Chuck took Dei's temperature, she had a fever, 38.8°.
"Here...have some soup to warm your tummy...let me do it..." Chuck insisted feeding Dei .
"...thank you...you don't have to..."
"I want to..."
He gave Dei some medicine and gave her another shirt to wear after helping her clean up when she sweated.
"Are you done?" Chuck asked as he entered the bathroom.
"....you don't have to wash me...."
"As if you didn't when it was me...."
"That was different...."
While in bed later on...
"Thank you talaga for all your help...."
"I love you..."
"I...love you...too..." Dei replied a bit hesitantly. They had just reunited the night before and now here she was, in his bed. She felt woozy at the thought of the events that happened in the past 24 hours.
Chuck noticed Dei putting her hand on her forehead. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine..." she replied.
Chuck pulled Dei closer (she was leaning on his arm) to cuddle her and kiss her on the head.
"Ay wait! I have something for you..." Chuck stood up from bed. "Don't move...stay there..." He said as he went to his cabinets.
"Something pa? You've given me so much na..."
He comes back to the bed and gives Dei a little box with a bow. "Open it..." he says. "I knew that I would see you some day and give them to you...."
"Talaga?" Dei chuckled as she held up the button pins. "Thank you!" she said and turned to kiss Chuck on the lips.
"Yep! You fixed me! You're the best! Actually, the bestest best!"
"Wow! I'm flattered naman....has someone else wiped your butt ba?"
"Aside from my yaya and Mom and you....none! But yours was the best!"
"May category?"
"Bestest best nga!"
They both laughed heartily.
Later in the day, the skies cleared up a little.
"I think I better go home na...." Dei said as she looked out the window.
"No"
"Huh?"
"Champ....look o...it's not raining anymore....and the news said that flooding has subsided...." Dei pleaded.
"How do you expect to go home?"
"Cab? Grab"
"No"
"Sige na....please....I have no clothes na rin...."
"You can wear mine.."
"Uhmm....how about my undies?"
"No pa rin....you're still feverish....it's cold....Dei, pag ikaw nag-relapse, aawayin talaga kita....You will not go home until your fever is really gone and you're not coughing anymore...."
Dei thought, then sneezed.
"Let's get you back to bed, young lady...." Chuck lifted Dei and carried her to the bedroom.
"But.....daddy......"
