traffic

       

"Hi Grace!"

"Hello......Sir Chuck! Good evening!"

"Good evening! Si...."

"Naku Sir...kaalis lang nya....mga 5 minutes ago.....yung silver na kotse na lumabas ng parking lot...."

"Ah sige...sige....salamat..." Chuck rushed out of the facility and ran to his car at the other side of the parking lot.

"Pag minamalas ka nga naman oo.....bakit dun ka pa kasi pumili mag-park?!"

Chuck drives out of the driveway and on to the long road that leads to the highway ahead. It was rush hour so traffic was heavy.

"Tangina! Manila traffic, I hate you!"

After a long while of "crawling" on the road, Chuck heard a loud bang and noticed that the cars on his lane were switching lanes, trying to avoid an accident up ahead.

"Sheeeeeeesh!" He hits the steering wheel with his hands and transfers lanes.

"Tanginang traffic to o! New York traffic can just be as bad.....haaay! Nagiging isang malaking parking lot na ang mundo!"

       

A few minutes later, he passes a stalled vehicle; its front wheel was blown.  Chuck normally ignored accidents like these, but , for some reason, he turned to look at the driver of the vehicle. The girl was bent down looking at the damage. When she looked up, she immediately used her phone.

"Teka....familiar yung girl na yun a....."

"Dei?" Chuck said to himself as he took a second look at the girl.  He was still looking at her via his rear view mirror when he turned the steering wheel to pull over ahead.

He got down from his car as it started to drizzle.

"Dei?" He said.

The girl didn't hear him. The traffic was heavy, the sounds of car engines and horns honking was loud.  He came even closer.

"Dei?"

The girl turned.

She didn't turn off her headlights so she could not see the face of the person approaching. It started to rain but the person was still approaching.

"Dei?"

"Ch.....Chuck?"

"Dei!"

Chuck ran to Dei and hugged and kissed her under the pouring rain.
