A Broken Heart

Chapter 5

I slumped against a tree trunk and sighed. My phone was almost dead and my mom called and texted me so many times I can't even count. I knew I should go home but my mom would ground me. Tears started falling down my face and I frowned. Why is my mom so mean sometimes? Don't say that! said my good spirit. Some people don't even have moms so be grateful. I checked my phone again. It was 7:30 and I have been out in the scary forest for hours. Shivering, I walked to my car. I had a really bad feeling about this forest idea. It was already dark. "BOOM!" came out of no where. I screamed and started the car. All of a sudden a face appeared a little far away. I screamed at the top of my lungs because it was a scary face. I hurriedly backed up and turned around. I heard footsteps louder and I screamed again. My car was going really fast when I looked behind I saw the face again, running toward me and my car. I once again screamed as loud as possible. Who the heck is that?! I backed up hoping to run over the scary guy but that made me even closer so i hit the gas pedal and drove to Alexa's house, my best friend. I didn't know who that was but it was creepy and I hoped I never had to see it again. I finally reached Alexa's house and went up to the doorstep. I knocked and Alexas soft footsteps came towards the door. "Ari!" she cried, hugging me. "Hey Lexie" I smiled. "Why didn't I see you in PE?"she asked. "Oh um I went home sick" I said awkwardly playing with my thumbs. "Oh please." Alexa said rolling her eyes. "What really happened?" she asked. I sighed. "I ditched." I whispered. "Oh my poor baby!" she said. "Why did you leave though?" she asked. "Because. Can I sleepover? Please?" I whimpered. "Okay sure." she said. "Why is your face so pale though? You look sick." I explained what happened and she gasped. "Thank goodness you are okay! I bet it was just Colleen or Glozell playing a trick on you though. Maybe Frankie. You know how they are." I shrugged and pulled her hand to my car to get my stuff. "Come with me, I'm scared." She smiled and grabbed my stuff. "Ari won't your mom be worried? Also Frankie? Just call them, please Ariana. I frowned and shook my head. "No." I said sternly. "Then don't sleepover. Your mom needs to know. She's probably worried sick about you!" I sighed and grabbed my phone. "Fine. I will when we get settled down." She smiled. Once we got to her room, I smiled. I loved her room. It was a really pretty light blue color and is had white furniture and white bedspreads. Her curtains were white. Pretty much everything was. Since her queen bed was super big we could both sleep on it. It could probably fit 5 people with extra room. I walked to the bathroom and changed into a pair of light pink pajama pants and a simple t- shirt from a dance company that they sent me. I washed my face and put my hair up in a bun. I looked at my reflection and sighed before walking out. Alexa was in her pajamas already and she was putting Frozen on her flat screen TV. "Call your mom now Ari." She said. "Kk." I smiled. I laid on Alexa's bed and took my phone out of my pocket. I dialed my moms number and waited for her to pick up. "ARIANA?!" she screamed into the phone "WHERE ARE YOU SWEETIE? WHY WOULD YOU RUN AWAY?!" I winced and looked at Alexa. Her eyes widened and she whispered "I can hear her from over here!" I smiled and answered my mom. "Im so sorry! I'm at Alexas house I'll be home in the morning. Don't worry about me." I heard my mom sigh of relief. "Alright well have fun sweetie i love you so much goodnight." she said and I could practically hear her smiling. "Goodnight mommy love youuuu." I said before hanging up. Me and Alexa walked down to the kitchen and got some hot chocolate and popcorn. "Hello Ariana." Alexa's mom said. "How are you sweetie?" "Oh hi! I'm great! How about you?" Alexa's mom smiled and nodded. "I'm good. Goodnight girls." "Goodnight!" We both said before walking back to Alexa's room. "Alright Alexa lets start the movie!" I said. We were halfway in the movie and I fell asleep.
