(Feonix's POV)
I looked around Raven's house as she led us toward the basement. Neither Sapphire or I had been to her house. She was crazy rich because of her dad being an inventor. She didn't want to make us jealous of her, so we always were hanging out at the library.
She led us through her house until we got to a door. I assumed it led to the basement.
"So what's down there?" Sapphire asked.
"My dad's inventions." Raven responded. My eyes widened. She opened the door and we walked down the stairs and into the basement. There were metal parts littered across the floor, along with some half finished projects. Then I noticed the biggest project in the room.
There was a circular metal frame. It was about seven to eight feet tall, big enough for a person to walk through. The center of the frame was lit up a soft lavender color. A buzzing sound was coming from the machine. Raven stared at it in awe.
"I can't believe it! He actually got it to work!" She exclaimed. I looked at her confused.
"What is it?" Sapphire asked.
"Its a portal." Raven answered. I saw Sapphire smile.
"Should we test it out?" She said. I smiled as well.
"Sure!" We walked towards the portal and walked through, being the stupid teenagers we were. No regard for safety whatsoever.
Never travel by portal. I felt like I was about to puke, and my head was spinning. It stopped after a few seconds, and then I was free falling. I landed on the ground with a thud. I looked up and saw Sapphire and Raven falling. Raven landed on the ground next to me and Sapphire... landed on me. The wind was knocked out of me again and I coughed.
"Sapphire, could you get off of me? Your crushing me..."
"Oh, sorry." She said getting off of me. Raven groaned. My head snapped over to her. I got up and held a hand out for her. She smiled and took it. I pulled her up and we stood there blushing.
"Guys, I know you love each other, but you should take a look at this." Sapphire said. I was about to say something, but then I saw our surroundings.
We were in a giant meadow. I was surrounded by beautiful lavender, yellow and white colors of beautiful flowers. Towards the end of the meadow was the start of a ginormous forest. The sky was a soft blue color, and there were a few fluffy white clouds.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"I have no idea, but were not in Kansas anymore." Sapphire said pulling us out of the moment. Raven and I looked at her, her cliche line stinging my ears.
"Really?" Raven asked.
"Yes. Really." Then we heard a rumble coming from behind us. We turned around and were met with four men on horseback come bursting out of the trees behind us. The person in the lead rode a beautiful black stallion, its mane cut short like a war horse. Its rider had long golden blonde hair held in a ponytail. His skin was fair and he had a muscular build. He looked to be about 6 feet tall. His eyes were shaped like almonds, if almonds could give you a death glare.
All of them were wearing tan longsleve shirts covered with a brown leather vest over it. It looked like Hiccup's outfit from How to Train Your Dragon, but without the shoulder cover things. There were odd designs in a lighter tan. There was a symbol on the upper right corner of the vest. It was a sun and a moon, crossing over each other. The symbol was highlighted in light tan and blue.
They all had swords on their belts and bows on their backs. Then I saw their ears. Instead of curved like a human's, they came up to a point. These creatures were elves.
My jaw dropped open when I saw their ears. Raven saw that I was staring and pulled my jaw back up so I wouldn't look stupid.
The elves created a circle around us with their steeds. And of course, they all had to point their swords at us as well. The lead elf dismounted their horse and walked over to us, his sword glinting in the alien sunlight.
"Who are you? Explain why you are trespassing in Elven territory." He said giving each of us a death glare. Raven stepped forward.
"My name is Raven. This is Sapphire and Feonix." she said pointing at each of us. "We didn't know we were trespassing. My friends and I just came through a portal. We have no idea where we are or how to get back home." The lead elf's gaze softened when he heard this.
"You are human?" he asked, looking at each of us. We all nodded, surprised. He looked over at the other elves. He must have given them a silent command because they all lowered their swords.
"Get on a horse." The lead elf said. Sapphire was giving all the elves her death glare. None of them flinched.
"Why should we?" She said stepping forward threateningly. The elf's sword was at her throat before she could move. She stiffened up and the sword pricked her neck.
"Because you have no other choice." He responded. "Now get on a horse." Sapphire scowled at him. I was laughing so hard inside. Sapphire just got recked. She got on one of the elf's steeds, still at sword point.
I got on the horse next to the lead elf's. I looked over at Raven. The leader got on his horse. He smiled and offered a hand to her. She smiled and took his hand, mounting the horse. I felt something bubble up in my heart. I wanted to grab the elf's sword and stab him through the heart.
I shook my head, trying to get the gruesome feeling out of my head. Why would I even think something like that?
My thoughts were disrupted when the horses took off. I was screaming inside at first because of how fast the horses were going, but I calmed down soon after.
We rode though the forest for about an hour. Sapphire looked like she wanted to kill someone, and Raven looked like she was having the time of her life. I felt the same feeling from before pop up again.
I shook my head again. WHY DO I KEEP FEELING THIS!! STOP IT!!! I thought to myself.
As we rode through the forest, I looked around and saw glowing blue mushrooms under the trees. This place is really cool. I said to myself.
While we rode, we took so many twists and turns that I didn't think I could find my way back out of the forest if I got lost.
We started going straight. I looked ahead and saw that we were approaching the end of the forest. As we burst through the tunnel of trees, I saw a castle towering above everything. The tallest tower on it was at least three times bigger than the Empire State Building. It was surrounded by smaller buildings for the civilians.
We all came to a stop outside the gates guarding the city. The leader turned around and looked at Raven, Sapphire, and I.
"Welcome to Nilolon, the capitol of the elven kingdom."
