(Sapphire's POV)
Stupid, pointy-eared, bastard. I thought to myself as we walked. My mouth was scrunched up in rage, and I wanted to murder Kalin.
As we walked, I noticed Raven's hand brush against Feonix's and they both blushed madly. My frown turned into a slight smile. I wanted to tease them so badly, but I wasn't going to with Elf Boy leading us everywhere. I scowled again at the thought of him.
After a couple minutes of walking, we came to a pair of doors. They were made of dark wood, rimmed with gold, and were decorated with silver vine designs that popped out of the wood. A pair of guards were positioned outside the doors. Both wore the same gear as the guards by the gates outside.
The doors opened with a groan. Kalin walked in and Raven, Feonix, and I followed him in.
Inside was a grand hallway. It was filled with silver pillars. Each pillar held similar designs to the doors outside. The ceiling was made of glass, and I could see birds flying above us. At the end of the hallway was a throne made of gold. The edges of the throne were cut very straight and it looked very uncomfortable to sit on.
Sitting on the throne was an elf woman. She had long, slightly curly, blonde hair that fell well past her shoulders. She wore a long red and gold dress, and wore a fluffy white coat over it. It looked to be rabbit fur. She had a beautiful silver tiara resting on her head. Like the doors and the pillars in the throne room, the queen's tiara looked to be made of silver vines that were tangled together. There was a white falcon perched on her arm.
When we were a couple yards away from the throne, Kalin made a fist, put over his heart, brought himself to one knee, and bowed his head.
"Queen Raejiisa, these are the humans that I told you about." He said. The queen rose from her throne, her dress billowing out from behind her, and looked at each of us.
"What are your names?" She asked, her voice full of authority. Raven spoke up before I could say my name was Batman.
"My name is Raven. My friends are Sapphire and Feonix." she said pointing at us accordingly.
"From what Kalin has told me, you are not a threat to my kingdom. At least not yet. You have no way of returning to Earth, am I correct?" She asked. I was surprised she knew what Earth was. Raven and Feonix looked surprised as well. Queen Raejiisa smiled lightly at our shocked faces.
"Yes, I know of your world. We have harbored humans before." she said in an amused tone. "We will give you disguises. Our world finds your species weak, and will kill you on sight." Raven looked at me and I noticed that an eighth of her hair was already white. The queen continued on speaking.
"Do not be frightened by this. Once you have your disguises, you will be accepted by our society. The other species, I cannot say."
"Wait a sec. How many other species are there besides you guys? And what's with the bird?" I asked. Please be dragons. Please be dragons. I thought to myself. I also mentally crossed my fingers.
"There are many species. The ujku, centaurs, dragons, the like." Kalin said, suddenly speaking up. On the outside, I furrowed my eyebrows into a glare. On the inside, I was screaming out of pure joy because I was right about the dragons.
"Thank you Kalin, for answering Sapphire's question. And this little bird?" The queen stroked the falcon's head. The falcon squawked in content. "This is Noviael. She's my favorite little bird. She also.. Keeps an eye on things." The falcon squawked again.
"Guards will bring you to your room for the night. Tomorrow you will eat, and then go to Xatar and get your disguises." Two guards walked behind us.
"My queen," one of the guards asked, bowing slightly and putting a fist to his heart like the guards earlier. "Shall we take these three to their rooms now?". The queen nodded, stroking the top of Noviael's head.
"Please come with us." A different guard than the one before grabbed my arm. The other guard grabbed Feonix and dragged him out of the room. Raven was left with Kalin. The guard that held me led me out of the throne room.
"Like I had a choice.." I muttered.
"What was that?" The guard asked coming to a stop.
"I said, 'Oh my God. I love this castle, it's soooo amazing. And I love the way you're oh so gently leading me to my room oh kind sir.'" I said with as much sarcasm as I could muster. And from me, that's saying a lot.
I felt the cold tip of a knife press into my back. "There. I won't have to 'gently lead you to your room' anymore." The guard said coldly. I smirked.
"That's more like it. Now I know I'm a prisoner." I said. The guard snorted and shoved me into a room. The door slammed behind me, and I heard it lock.
"Thank you so much for the tour!" I yelled sarcastically.
"Sapphire, what did you do?" A voice said behind me. I turned around and saw it was Raven. I gave her an innocent smile.
"I didn't do anything! I was just kindly being led by this handsome gentleman who took me by the arm and forced me into the room with a knife in my back." I said sweetly and with a lot of sarcasm. Raven gave me an unamused glare. I sighed.
"Sorry. I get really sarcastic when I'm pissed." I said. She gave me a small smile at that.
"Yeah, I know." she said. "At least we got a room together."
"Yeah. At least they put the two girls in the same room and the guy in a different room. You never know what could happen between a guy and a girl these days."
Raven just looked at me with an "are you kidding me" look. I smiled cheekily at her. There was a
"So what do we do now?" I asked.
"Ummmm.... I would eat right now, but we don't have any food." I smirk.
"Yeah we do. Thank God those long-eared bastards didn't look in my jacket." I said, taking it off. I looked in the inside pocket where I kept my secret stash of candy. I pulled out a couple Smarties and a SweetTart. My hand brushed my swiss army knife and I smiled to myself. Just wait for the time to use it.
I tossed the SweetTart over to Raven. She muttered a thanks and we chowed down on our unhealthy sweets.
"Do you have any more?" She asked hopefully.
"I'd like to save them. If we can't find a way back home, then these will be our last." I said. Raven's happy demeanor fell when I mentioned home.
"Yeah. I guess." she responded. "I'm gonna go to bed."
"That's a good idea. You can have the bed. I'll take the floor." I've had worse. Raven walked over to the single bed in the room and collapsed. I took my MP3 player out of my side pocket and put my earbuds in. I walked over to the wall next to the bed and sat down, ready for another long night.
****
I must have fallen asleep, because I woke up to the darkness of my "room". I heard voices and immediately slowed my breathing. I listened to the voices and realized it was Kalin and Raven.
"I didn't think you would be up this late." He said softly.
"The same goes for you." Raven said back.
"Are you sure she's asleep?" he asked.
"I'm sure." She said, a groan coming from the bed as she presumably got up.
"Then come. I wish to speak with you." He said. I heard soft footsteps and the click of a door latching. I sat up and stared at the door. Raven was so getting it in the morning.
